Art of Life Salon & Spa Review

The gal at the front desk was highly unprofessional. I believe her name was Ally. She was not very nice and took forever to check me out. I tried making conversation but she was caught up in her cell phone the whole time. She had a very bad attitude. Otherwise, everyone else at the salon seemed nice professional! I just buy products and have never had issues with anyone else, but this same gal.

They applied my eyelash extensions incorrectly and they hurt my eyes a day later. They were applied incorrectly and not even all my lashes were lashed (2.5 hours and they didn t even lash all lashes...) Also, I asked for a natural look and I got long, dramatic, and jet black lashes for a bleach blonde girl. I called and asked for my money back and they were very rude about it and never gave me any back. If you are looking for a lash studio to do it right and have amazing customer service use Amazing Lash Studio!!!

Julie cut my hair yesterday, and she did a wonderful job! I have had a few bad haircuts elsewhere, and decided to give Art of Life Salon a try. I will definitely be going back here. Thank you!

I haven t been to a salon in 7 years, I just moved to grimes and I Love this place!! My hair was super crusty and dead and this nice lady her name was Mac,(says on the receipt) and she made my hair alive and it was super fluffy, unfortunately she couldn t give me what I wanted due to the box dye.. so I have to go back again and I should be able to get the dye style I want!, 100% recommendation to book with her, it was about $170 decent price, couldn t give a big tip due to covid and not having a lot of money in my end, but the ladies here are really nice and super cool to work with, go here!

Worst haircut I have had in years. Choppy, uneven, and I asked for an inch off and I got four instead. Needless to say I will be wearing my hair up alot.... Horrible experience.

I made an appointment for a consultation yesterday and was also able to get my hair done as well today. It was perfect because I wanted to get this done before my birthday tomorrow. Julie was so nice and did really good at getting it as close to what I wanted. She took her time and made sure at every step of the way everything looked good. I also got my eyebrows done for the first time. I got them tinted and waxed and Erin is amazing and so nice as well. This place is officially my new go to place. Everything is so clean and everyone is so nice and the pricing is better than most other places and is definitely worth every dollar. Love this place so much. Thank you guys for being so amazing.

I spent a load of money & didn't get what I paid for at all. The first time I went, I was very satisfied. The second time-same lady, bad experience & it was crazy expensive. My color & cut didn't turn out at all!

The most fantastic experience I ve ever had at a salon, I ve been going to Art of Life for years and I ve never left unhappy. I came in with Pramasana brand neon pink in my hair, wanting to go completely blonde. I did not expect to leave with blonde hair, knowing how difficult it was to get that color out, and was shocked when I had beautiful blonde hair! Not only was my hair amazing, but the customer service is incredible. Wonderful wonderful people and wonderful service. Thank you Julie and Kavita for my beautiful blonde hair!

I went today for my sixth massage with Taylor Mackenzie White I really love what she does with her hands she is a true professional I recommended some people to her hoping they will schedule appointment with her soon.

I highly recommend giving this salon a try. Kavita was amazing and completely transformed my hair. I will be back!

Alli H. works magic with my thick, coarse hair. I never thought I could wear it short (because every time I tried before it just got poofy) but she found a way to make it work! She's always learning new cutting techniques and teaching me little tricks to duplicate at home. I highly recommend her!

Want the best massage of your life? No question, here with Erin is it!!! I've referred many friends and they've all become life long customers of her!!! Staff is always great and welcoming and when I do splurge and get my hair done there I'm always happy with the results and LOVE the compliments I get afterwards!!! My favorite get away in Iowa!!!

After months of debating and looking for a new Salon, I'm very happy with my choice. Shelly found room in her schedule to get me in for a consultation. And less than a week later they got me scheduled on short notice to have it completed. Julie did my color and highlight and after Shelly fixed a hair cut/growth issue with part of my hair by adding in a small piece of an extension to even it out and blend in. Both made sure that I was satisfied with the end result. Friendly and comfortable atmosphere:) One thing that I have learned is you cannot put a price tag on your self care and confidence if you're looking for a place this is it.

David did a great job, knows his stuff and as a guy, put me at ease getting my haircut here.

I've gone to David at Art of Life off and on for a number of years now and I'd recommend him to anyone (men's and women's). I recently went in after 3 years of growing my hair out. I was ready to clean up, and I didn't think about going anywhere but here. I trust David, and my trust was not misplaced. When you're chopping 15 inches off the top and going for a completely new look it can be nerve-racking, but David put me at ease. I absolutely love my hair. Only positive reviews with others so far too!

Taylor has magical hands for giving massages. I have another appointment on 7/11. I recommend her to anyone.

Paid $128 for a perm, no haircut. I've had a ton of perms and never have I had such a bad experience. Ended up with SUPER burnt and fragile hair and no trace of curl. When I called in to tell them the next day, they offered a free conditioning treatment and haircut to "fix" the problem. Well, it was all good and dandy, but my hair is still burned and it's four inches shorter than I wanted. They were supposed to call me back within a few days to see about redoing the perm, but no one ever did. So, $128 for a haircut. Not a place I would trust with my hair.

All of the people are wonderful and Taylor who does massages is great at her job. If you are need of any self care just go see them and they will help you out!

I really enjoy being at this salon... but can't believe how long they'll put you on hold when you call in. Yesterday I was on hold for 5 minutes and today was over 8 minutes. It's CRAZY to not even just pop back on to say you havent been forgotten. I rate the work they do there a 5.... the way their systems are set up a 1. Hire someone else... atleast get the person's name BEFORE putting them on hold and give a tentative wait time.. something.

I went to Art of Life Salon last week for the first time and was very impressed by my haircut with Kavita. She listened to and gave me the exact cut I was looking for and then worked with me as I asked for adjustments for more off in certain areas. She was very kind and I walked away with exactly what I was looking for. I wouldn t hesitate to go back.

The massage therapist I had was not very good. Didn't really pay attention to what I asked her to work on. My shoulders are still hurting.

I really liked my experience here. I have an uncommon hair cut but the stylist did a great job. I asked for a trim of about 1/1.5 inches and that is exactly how much she took off. I also asked for layers and told her a bit of how it is usually done and she followed that and did a really great job! I would suggest telling them exactly what you want ahead of time and you should have a great experience. I have both the sides of my head shaved and it was hard with a mask to get rid of all the little hairs after they were cut. That would be my only complaint that I ended up with a bunch of little hairs that clung to my mask and my shirt afterwards. But overall it was very welcoming and she did exactly what I asked and I didn't have to give any direction after the cut started. Definitely recommend coming here especially if you have medium/long hair.

Art of Life Salon & Spa is my all time favorite salon that I have ever been to! I can count on a quality cut, color, and experience every time that I book an appointment. The stylists know what they are doing and you will always walk out looking better than when you came in! On top of everything else, the customer service is stellar! My entire wedding party will be getting their hair done at Art of Life and I'm confident that they will do a fantastic job! 10/10 ** forever customer **
