Had a late lunch in the restaurant on Independence Day. What a beautiful property and golf course. Food was excellent. Great flavor. Our waiter, Kyle, gave us excellent service and was just a genuinely friendly, helpful young man. He really enhanced our experience. Great restaurant.

The best golf course I have played to date. Challenging links style course on the edge of Lake Michigan. The entire course has scenic views while creating a tough layout. The morning was calm but by the fourth hole we were dealing with 30-40 mph winds as a storm rolled in. I hope to have the opportunity to play the course again.

Aside from the dense fog that set in the morning of our round (which you can expect for the time of year and being on the water), we had an amazing time. The grounds were absolutely gorgeous, the food was delicious and the staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. We will definitely be coming back (in the summer).

The true traveler finds boredom rather pleasant than annoying. It is the symbol of their freedom - their excessive freedom. He accepts his boredom, when it comes, not as a mere philosophical principle but almost with pleasure.

I have made a point of visiting AB at least once per year ever since it's creation. Each year it has progressively gotten bolder while maintaining the same original charm. It is well worth the trip and the greens fee. I have played with people from all over the world during it's 14+ years. It is one of North America;'s Gems. Try to catch a twilight round and you might catch a glimpse of the Bag Piper playing a classic song or two as you stroll up 18.

Enjoy Northern Michigan's true beauty.

This course is worth all the hype..fairways and greens are fast, it will leaving you frustrated but wanting more , I would not recommend this for course for a golfer with handicap 16 or higher unless your checking it off your bucket list . If going up for the weekend to play both the south course and bluffs...play south course first to get use to fairways and greens...they play the same way. The south course is more forgiving

Easily makes the list of top 5 public courses in Michigan... but is it #1? This course has it all, the immaculate fairways and greens, the views of Lake Michigan, the outrageously beautiful clubhouse, as well as a pack of the gnarliest bunkers you ll find anywhere. Find your ball heading toward the teeth of these sod wall bunkers and you might as well hit backwards. Or take an 8. This is a must-play course on the beautiful west coast of Michigan.

This was my 5th time at AB and first time staying overnight. From the moment we checked in, there was great hospitality! A gentleman in a suit schlepped our bags to our rooms and was all over it! The rooms are beautiful and our balcony had a partial view of some of the holes and the parking lot. Complementary bottled waters, coffee/tea bar, lounge area, comfy beds, huge bathroom with rainfall shower head was a treat! Rocking chairs on the porch and the easy walk to the clubhouse and Adirondack chairs to soak in the views and bagpiper were perfect. Someone really thought through the experience and it lives up to the fantastic golf. The food in the dining room was right on at dinner. We played the South Course and the Bluffs and had a blast! The only suggestion I have is to offer more portable/on the go foods at the grill. And a burger for $20? That's a stretch (but it was good) Kudos for delivering an impressive experience!

Great course but be prepared for weather change....I played the front in shorts and then the rain and wind came in fast and I was leaning into the wind on a 45 degree angle....but it is well worth it especially if you pay senior prices or play late in the fall at a reduced fee....put it on your bucket list...

Amazing links course with phenomenal views, elevation changes and bluffs along Lake Michigan. I've played Kapalua and The Ocean Course, and in my opinion Arcadia is superior. Staff and food are great too. We stayed in the lodges which overlook the course and lake - magnificent. Dont miss this one!

Although the coarse was very beautiful and well
maintained I was disappointed with my visit.
My tee time was booked for 5:40pm for 18 holes. During my round the beer cart girl admitted that rounds of 18 are not booked past 5pm due to not having enough time to finish the round. This is exactly what happened. Not only did I not get to finish my round, having to stop after 15. The entire coarse was packed with groups in front and behind us. There was a wait on every hole and the group behind us hit up on my group more than once. For 140$ a round I expected more organization and Honesty regarding my tee time.

One of the most beautiful courses I've ever played. Great service, course is kept in immaculate shape, awsome views of Lake Michigan. Course itself is challenging, yet playable... food is great too! Expensive but well worth it!!

Great place, poor golf course.

Great place, poor golf course.

The location, view, facilities, food and staff are all fantastic. Visually, the golf course is beautiful, but it is no fun to play. It's full of blinds shots, tricky landing areas, overdone green undulations, dungeon bunkers, and shaved collection areas around the greens. If you just want great eye candy, fine. But be prepared to get beaten up the entire time. I've played here three times and want to like it but it is just too tricked up.

Simply an awesome course. Clearly one of the best in Michigan. The personnel is top notch...from the time your bag is placed on your cart to the waiters, waitresses, bartenders, pro shop and the beer cart people...you are in for a treat. Just a beautiful course.

Beautiful location and really good layout. You'll remember every hole. But, the play was very slow. Additionally, there's a lot of poa in the greens. They need to spray aggressively. I've played here half a dozen times and this was the first time that I felt like I was paying for the brand, if that makes sense. Might replace Arcadia with Forest Dunes in our rota.

All my reviews this year will be based purely on COVID-19 safety enforcement, my family and I take this seriously and expect all Michigan restaurants to also do so.
-------------

This is one of our favorite places in the area so it really pains me to write this safety review; it must be done for the many people out there just like me.

All the staff was wearing masks and gloves, as expected, that's where the good stuff ends :(

To enter the building, they take one's temperature. However, after my wife passed the temp check, they told her she didn't have to wear a mask. Which was shocking! In fact, when she said that she preferred to wear a mask the host gave her a surprised look. It got worse, nearly every customer inside the restaurant didn't have a mask on. We had requested a table outside and because of this, we actually walked around the building to sit down.

To be clear, any food service establishment in Michigan can refuse service to anyone and many have a strict no-mask, no entry policy. Arcadia Bluffs does not. In fact, they create a false sense of safety by encouraging (at least in our experience) customers to not wear masks after the temp check. Taking my two young children to the bathroom definitely exposed us (in masks) to many others that weren't wearing masks. Enforce masks! This is a no brainer for a place that attracts so many tourists from all over.

Finally, the beautiful Adirondack chairs overlooking the 18th hole weren't socially distanced at all - it would've been very easy to do this, yet this precaution wasn't taken. We sat down and immediately felt crowded.

I expect much better, let's hope this review makes a difference.

Unreal experience playing this course. I think we got lucky and played it on perhaps the most perfect day of the year, we had nothing but sun and very little wind. Every hole has just a surreal view of Lake Michigan. The condition was perfect, the staff was friendly. I would love to make this a yearly trip.

One of the most amazing Golf Courses I've ever seen, This is a must play course, not only is the course in magnificent condition but the views are spectacular. Food and Beverages available on course and in the club house. Large driving range, putting green and chipping green.

Top Notch all around. From Kaitlyn cleaning off a porch patio so we could enjoy lunch in the shade versus the sun porch to JJ my caddy providing a top notch walking caddy experience. Can't repair for our next trip!

Always great views with great food. A little off the beaten path, but well worth the trip for the experience that is had. The sunset views over Lake Michigan accompanied by a bagpiper off in the distance is certainly a one-of-a-kind experience.

What an amazing course. The views are second to none, and it is a difficult but very enjoyable course. I'm not a good golfer and I had a great time. Only complaint is that the greens where not in great shape. There are a lot of people that play the course, yes. However the condition of the greens was sub par, in my opinion. If you have the chance to play this course take it. The views alone are worth it.

My husband and I stopped in with the idea of sitting on the porch and having a drink and an appetizer. This is an ideal place to sit and watch both golfers and the scenery.

We picked the right appetizer in the warmed Brie with apple slices, pecans and honey on crusty bread. I'm going to steal the idea for my next party.

Then we took the remains of our drinks and sat on the Adirondack chairs down by the last hole of the Arcadia Bluffs golf course. This looks like one of the most difficult golf courses I've ever seen and I was perfectly happy with sitting in the chairs and watching everyone try to make it.

The fun thing was that at 7 p.m. a Scottish bagpiper came out and stood on the hill and serenaded us for half an hour. It was a perfect end of a perfect evening.

I finally see what all the hype was about....this course is truly amazing and puts Michigan as one of the best places to play Golf in the World.....The course is challenging, especially the greens, but if you play smart golf and don't try to cut corners, you can score well.....$185 seems a lot for a round, but after you are done, you actual feel that it was a good deal, crazy! Go play it now!

Stayed in cottage June 4-7 and cannot wait to do it again next year. Amazing place. Not only is the course beautiful, but the service and amenities are first class as well. Jason in the bar made sure our group was well take care of. The food in the clubhouse restaurant/steakhouse was very delicious and they offer complimentary breakfast for those who stay there. The course itself is challenging and bring lots of balls. Every hole gives you amazing views with Lake Michigan as the backdrop.

Absolutely great experience - no need to even leave the lodge; Between the bars, the great service, the rooms, the restaurants, the courses, and the view - you have everything you need.

Edit: Make sure to try the apples out front if they are out! Delicious!

Golf and life in what feels like the end of the world sometimes. The battle between ever-changing weather, unprecedented views, and perfectly shaped land will leave even the most accomplished golfer feeling satisfied.

A special place who impact every visitor differently. Wonderful hotel accommodations, fantastic dining and amenities, and golf unlike anywhere else. Exciting times ahead for Arcadia as they look to open a second course Fall'18 a few miles south on M22.

3 of us paid 190$ each for a round of golf only to be forced to play with another single?!! Staff was kind, facility and course was nice but forcing a stranger to play as your fourth at this cost asinine... Also you've got to wonder about a course that doesn't allow public reviews on their site, hiding anything???

My wife and I made a recent trip to Arcadia Bluffs to take advantage of a late-season deal. We had never been and weren't certain what to expect. We were wildly delighted. The accommodations were smallish, but beautifully done and beautifully maintained. A well-appointed coffee station was in the middle of the floor and always available. We had a marvelous dinner that was reasonably priced. In addition, we received $20 vouchers for breakfast the following morning, which proved to be quite enjoyable.

We will be finding our way back at our earliest opportunity.

In October, 2020, 6 of us enjoyed the challenges of Arcadia Bluffs. We have played this wonderful course at least 5 times if not more. It will remain on our list of all-time great affordable courses in the U.S.
One of the challenges for a golf course is TIME MANAGEMENT. An important ingredient to the success of TIME MANAGEMENT is SIGNAGE--getting to the next hole successfully and in a timely manner
Having said that, it should be noted that the signage at Arcadia Bluffs is almost--almost non-existent. What do you think that does to expediency?
There were too many times when we came to a 4-way choice with no posting. Our cart got lost at least 5 times during our 18 holes. How much delay did that cost?
What do you calculate, reader?
I stopped by the Pro Shop and casually asked the man behind the desk if he had EVER had anyone remark about this. "Nope". Come on.
Take a tour yourselves, AB management. Pretend that you haven't been there for 2 years.
Respectfully and hopefully submitted,

I ve gotta say an amazing course all around. As a group of mid-twenty year olds, many of the more prestigious courses look down on younger golfers. This place was as friendly as can be. The course itself is beautiful, and can be a bit of a challenge. That just makes it more stimulating though. All the employees out on the course were friendly as well! Only slight draw back is as we aren t the greatest golfers (certainly not the worst) the timing and constant reminders that we re behind can get tiresome after a while. Next time I ll have to try staying over night and try the restaurant.

They ignorantly promote polluting lake Michigan from golfers hitting directly into the lake. This place should be fined $800 per ball littered into the lake and then shuttered. Our environment is more important than your stupid course.

I went in the off-season in the first week of October. It was raining and the cold was unbearable but the views were worth it. The club house was fabulous and the food was amazing. The range was also in great condition for so late in the season. The only downside was we were being rushed on the golf course even though there was no one behind us. It is definitely a course to add to your list though.

The best course in Michigan and the views are stunning. Make sure you play the correct set of tees as this is a tough course. Conditions are outstanding and the sunsets are second to none. This is a "must play" if you are in the area.

The best golf course I have every played. Unfortunately a few holes in our round were covered by fog. Then the fog cleared and appeared a beautiful golf course. This is a golf course every golf enthusiast must play once. #puremichigan

Absolutely incredible experience playing here! Best course in Michigan. Amazing views throughout the entire course. Course in perfect condition. Difficult course but fair and manageable if you're average or better. Fun guaranteed, regardless of how you play! Every golfer should play Arcadia Bluffs at least once!
