Farm Aid 2019 was the best experience I have ever had in my life. Amazing music lineup. Definitely going to go every year.
Great concert and Alpine Valley was very nice. Heard horror stories but I our experience was very good.
Nice place for lawn seat, but 15$ beers is a little ridiculous
The acoustics of the venue are lovely but that's pretty much all you get stars for. When I saw the Dead there in the 80s it was MUCH different. Seeing Dead&Co there recently was quite the disappointment. No vending? Why? These heads are just trying to make a living with some meager sales. It definitely ruined the experience for me and none of my vendor friends stayed beyond the first few hours of arrival. Is Live Nation really so greedy? Well, I suppose is you look at the extremely overinflated price of their concessions the answer would absolutely be yes. If you don't want hippies doing what hippies do then don't book their shows. If you do, I and many of my touring brethren will not be there
I detest this venue. The owners have to figure out a better way to get people in an out of this venue. I spent more time trying to leave the lot then I spent in the concert. Parking has ALWAYS been n issue here, but I've never seen it this bad. Not sure I'll ever be back.
Sat in traffic for an hour waiting for storm to pass. Paid $22 for a 6 oz. drink. Drunk girl puking behind us. Jimmy Buffet was great but I won't go back to A.V.
Best music venue around. Perfect acoustics and such a great atmosphere!
Love seeing dave Matthews here. Few years ago stopped abruptly with loud ear piercing sounds. Everyone ran out. Haven t been back since
Nice venue . The lawn GA area is fine, seats are better. Very glad I paid $40 for VIP parking. Our friends didn't and they ended up getting home 1.5 hours later.
Very run down. Staff is under-trained. Acoustics are just okay.
The lawn here is a killer - I definitely left the first night in pain. The second and third night I was there we had seats under the pavilion. Sound quality varies based on where you are - on both the lawn and in the pavilion. It s quite a hike from the pavilion to the main restrooms and concessions. I would definitely visit this venue again in the future, tho.
I was at the Rage Against The Machine concert in 2007. It rained all night. Mud slides developed throughout. I live in Detroit, but there was no way I was missing this concert at the ripe young age of 47. Best concert venue I have ever been to. The sound system consisted of walls of speakers standing 25ft high by 25ft long on both sides of the stage. Queens Ryche was the warm-up group. Rented a car and it was covered in mud when I returned it. Best concert I have ever been to!!
Working on hanging fresh steel on the original building, Alpine Valley keeps getting better every year. Also, don't forget that Alpine Valley is one of the largest natural Amphitheatres in the world!
Amazing beautiful venue. It. Accommodates 37. Thousand. People but doesn't seem that big. Been here for Phish concert for 3 days. Well staffed and organized.
Alpine is a beautiful venue. If you are older, or handicapped, don't get lawn seating as you'll need to either sit on the ground, stand, or rent a very low lawn chair from alpine. Aside from that hitch, it's a gorgeous venue. The front of The "lawn" seating is closer to the stage than in most venues.
Amazing time. So much fun. Tailgating and atmosphere was great. Saw "The Who" . Would definitely go again
Because we got there 10 minutes before 3 they Charged us $20 parking With the tail gators. No explanation we could have parked in a free parking area. Also there is a huge huge mass of people trying to get in gate one. With no l instruction to let us to different gates to be more efficient . People were very angry
Attended the Jimmy Buffet concert. The event was obviously oversold. The funneling in to to the concert area of ticket holders was a accident waiting to happen. It was scary. The service was slow even without a line. Buffet was amazing.
I don't know why they don't have more concerts anymore. Oh an just so you know chairs can only be 6 inches from the ground.
This was my friend and I's 10 year old daughters' 10th Phish show and the 10 year anniversary of us seeing our first Phish show and when we became best friends. Couldn't have asked for a better venue to host this momentous event.
One of the best venues in the country. The lawn is a bit steep. I get pavilion seats whenever possible.
Great venue, but poor security. The amount of weed being smoked was ridiculous.
Best sound in the Midwest! Try to get inside the venue if you can (as opposed to the lawn- such a party on the lawn though). Don t try any funny business outside the venue (speeding getting out, smoking pot, selling anything)
A few days before the show, I read an interview with Pete, and he said he only tours as The Who to make money to finance his other projects. Sunday at Alpine, he proved it. Over all, I guess it was okay. The second "set" was its savings grace. Nothing against the orchestra, they were a great asset and jammed in their own right. After seeing them 8 or 9 times, the first at Alpine in '89, this was my final tour. I hope to see Pete solo one day before I get old.
Getting to our seats was rough you're going uphill and there is very steep and you're going down the same hills when you are leaving and they are just Assteep especially you've got SoreLeg I probly will never go again So all in all this place is not a place to go for concerts if you are an elderly person
Good sound, plenty of room but lawn steepest in the country and workers not very pleasant
Dead and company rocked. First show at alpine was amazing.
Just saw Jimmy Buffet and all I can say is... terrible. The venue decided to pack as many people as possible inside and my group wasn't even able to see or hear the concert well. There was no room anywhere on the lawn and it was a free for all in terms of trying to find a place to stand. Absolutely terrible. This was the most disappointing concerts I have ever been to. It was also my first time going to Alpine and I certainly will not be going back. Greed will never win Alpine.
You can usually find a bus to and from Alpine at some bars in Milwaukee.
Bathroom facilities horrible, bad traffic etc. The BEST thing were the people, friends and BUFFET!
This is an amazing place to see a concert. Easily in my top two places to see a concert in the U.S. It's an awesome experience to hear 40,000 people singing your favorite bands song, while your favorite band is playing. Just outside of Milwaukee this is well worth the trip.
One of the most unique theaters, great place to see concerts
Jimmy Buffett put on an awesome! Alpine Valley is a good venue, the only down side is the beverage pricing.
The sound is great no matter where you are but prices are steep, the parking lot scene is non-existent and and the food is eh and VERY overpriced. $3 for a cup of nacho cheese to go with my $12 pretzel?
Alpine Valley is a beautiful and historic concert venue. We opted for Premier Parking. The parking attendants were friendly and fast. The grass parking area was smooth and mowed. It's always a trick to get out of this place after a show. There are never enough bathrooms nearby and concession prices are outrageous (a 24 oz. Specialty Beer is $19). Overall, it's worth going if there's a band you like. Get there early and tailgate so you don't need to spend money at the concessions.
Alpine is a great venue, fits a ton of people, and sounds great. Pricey drinks, but you'll have that I guess.
Great to experience. We aren't the most adventurous people. The hill is big, drinks are very, very expensive. Seats under the roof are nice though.
Shame on you, Alpine Valley!! Buffett concert was the worst I have ever been to!! The event was way over sold!! Too many people, not enough toilets (they were all full), and it took 45 minutes to get through the gate. This was my 5th buffett concert at Alpine Valley. I wont be back.
Incredible experience! Lives up to it's infamy... I was lucky enough to find myself living less than 20 minutes away, but I will happily travel from anywhere to go back and experience that again!!
We have a great theater where i live now, Red Rocks. But born and raised in wisconsin Alpine Valley is my all time love. Where i seen my first concerts, and many good concerts!
It's still one of the best places to see a live concert!
Well it's outdoors so you get what you get with the weather. This venue requires a bit of strategy if you are not in the VIP seating. Go in and take stock. Look around and be willing to move your blanket. Um, you did bring a blanket with a small tarp to go underneath it right? Look for a spot that is not spongy and gives a clean view of the stage. A fun sport is betting on who is going to go down in the wet spots. Pro tip, bet on the flip flop people. No traction. Have a pocket full of twenties because a beer is $15.00 and a mixed drink is $25.00. I know, it's ridiculous. But, hey, they know you are here because you love this band or singer or whatever. You are already most of the way there because you have been in the grass field parking lot for three to four hours tailgating. So, you're gonna pay to keep the vibe going. By the way, having a DD is a must. The Sheriff's department deputies are sitting at every exit like alligators ready to slide into the water at the first sign of impairment. We saw Dave Matthews Band and I was totally willing to pay whatever it took. You will be too. Bathrooms are everywhere. Don't fight lines by traipsing downhill. Walk uphill and go right in. Leave after the best or biggest hit and just before the encore. You will sail home with no delays. Sound was awesome and not so loud that you couldn't think. Enjoy.
Fun - great place to see a show - on the pricey side but awesome !!
Sound system was awful for Jimmy Buffet and hearded in like cattle not happy pushing and shuffing not for me need a better system.
All of the employees were kind and helpful to the phish phamily. We appreciate you! Wonder venue!!
Terrible venue, feel bad for the artist when the is far superior places in Wisconsin to play.
The logistics were horrible. Couldn't walk, and the grade was so steep, you couldn't walk down the hill without holding on to the rail. I will never go back there
Great venue, but the traffic handling was awful when we left!
The show for Jimmy Buffet was oversold, unsafe due to the overcrowding, and no where to even stand to hear the concert let alone see them. Then on top of everything else , the venue area which we could stand in , we couldnt even hear the concert. We were very disappointed we missed it all due to no room.
I always enjoy going to Alpine Valley. It's a classic outdoor venue for Wisconsin with a great vibe. A really fun place to experience a live concert.
You suck. A place that big should have adequate bathrooms that you don't have to wait in line for half an hour for. Cops all over the parking lots busting people for doobies. Extraordinarily long lines for food which is subpar at best.
Trying to get in is a nightmare. There were three directions of traffic coming into one intersection and no one directing traffic. At least mow the field you're parking people in. Ample parking and port-o-pottys.
Facilities are lacking when it comes to large groups of fans...they ran out of everything.
Parking for limousines the price is to high. I think it should not be charged for parking since we are keeping people from drinking and driving.
I have traveled the country, attending over 60 venues, and this amphitheater is in my top 2. It provides some of the best views and best atmosphere I've ever experienced. The acoustics are second to none and there isn't a bad seat in the whole place. The wood roofs to the amphitheater provide the best sound and are high enough to not block views.
The set up of concessions, bathrooms, and merch tents is very convenient. And while the hill can be tiring, it is what makes this place the best. My sole complaint would be the traffic flow leaving the venue, as it gets very congested after a show, however, there are 60,000 people and it would be congested anywhere. Also, take this advice, bring sandwiches and refreshments for post concert hang out until the traffic clears!
Overall, if you like concerts you have to visit alpine valley, it's one of a kind.
Had a great time there working and seeing the group fish
Horrible venue for music! Over an hour to get to security gate, over 30 minutes for available porta toilet, over an hour to drive one mile to parking lot and over and hour to get out after the show. Is the fault of live nation?
Beautiful venue, but entering the venue was a disaster. We were in line for over 20 minutes trying to get in the venue.
Always have a great time here, wish they had more shows! Staff is friendly, parking is easy.
A great venue for love) live music. A must visit at least once in your lifetime.
Not sure whats happened here. Best to worst venue pretty quick. Two hours before we moved getting out.
