Me and my childhood best friend own our own business where we flip/rent houses. We do our own work as much as we can and was hoping to get ahead on our first flip in Kokomo, IN. But things went horribly wrong, mainly due to this company.
We had asked Arab to come out and give us a quote as we did with a few other termite companies. By the time they finally came out for their quote we already had the job done and moved on to the next issue, so we thought. Arab took it upon themselves to treat our property instead of getting permission and then charged us $2215, after already having the land treated previously at half the cost.
When I called to fix the issue the office manager Robin got me connected to the owner, Scott(I beleive) Whom told me they have been doing this for many years and they made no mistake, the worker that did the job also stated ‘I thought it was really weird that there were already boxes and treatment at the property’ but they did it anyway instead of calling the homeowner to ask a simple question.
We had no documents that stated we wanted service from Arab, nor had we given them permission to do service at all. But they did send over, after the fact, an invoice and contract that was signed by them stating ‘signed per phone’ and signatures that I cannot read from workers at their office.
When we asked if we could pay a partial of it or take partial responsibility they had every excuse in the book and made up what they needed to, to get away from taking any blame at all even though even the owner himself stated blame earlier on. In the end they refused and sent it over to collections. We had no choice but to give up our fight and pay and ended up even more in debt from a property we put our blood sweat and tears into in hopes to make a better future for ourselves and our families.
I understand we are females in this industry and that’s not the typical “norm” but he couldn’t seem to get past that, and in my opinion took advantage where he knew he could. Which I truly hope only happened to us and no one else.
In their about on their website it even states that the company founder named it Arab based on Arabian dreams, but there was nothing magical about this experience.
If you want a company that chooses themselves over anyone else and charges twice as much as the rest of the companies, go with ARAB.
