With all of the weirdness of 2020, this small town library has learned to adapt and overcome.

Their hours have been cut back to 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on their weekdays open to make time for a wide variety of online events and to thoroughly sanitize for everyone's safety. The operating computers are down to half so to ensure social distancing, masks are required, and if you happen to forget, they offer you a fresh sterile one (to keep of course). Moreover as soon as someone logs off of a computer, you can see a staff member wiping everything down with proper virus killing cleaning supplies. And at this moment all items brought back are fine free so that anyone that has had to isolate isn't hit with a late charge. And this is before items are quarantined and sanitized.

As for the staff that I see regularly, everyone is willing to help and eager to please. They hardly fit the stereotype of the stern hush-happy librarian, but will gently and amicably keep the order in their little library. If one is passing through the area, I certainly recommend a quiet afternoon here.

Large selection of books in a small library. The librarians and super helpful. Should they not have a title you're looking for they can get it from one of the other libraries in the North Country library system.
