My dad was discharged here as a temporarily stay until we got updates on his diagnosis and re-admitt him to a hospital as suggested by his doctor. They decided to transfer him to Anaheim Crest. My dad was okay the first couple of days here but he eventually grew weaker and weaker. He barely wanted to eat anything and was not strong enough to do/complete his physical therapy sessions since he had edema as well. I brought up my concerns to one of the RN stations and asked if he could be transferred to the hospital nearby but they kept saying they understood but couldn't do it because had to go by doctor's orders. A couple of days past and my dad kept expressing his concerns that he's getting weaker. At this point I called the social worker in this facility to see if they could do anything to get my dad back into a hospital. Social worker also gave me the same bull answers. She even had the audacity to say it's my dad's choice he's not eating and doing physical therapy to get better. Are you f#$%ing serious?? I'm telling you when he tries to eat he stated that he wants to throw up and that's his choice? Also how can he have the energy to do physical therapy if he barely has any food in system? He literally eats 1 to 2 spoons worth of food and calls it a day. I just don't know why they were so adamant about keeping him there when he clearly needed serious medical attention. We just said f-this and requested to bring him home. Once we got completed the paperwork, we admitted him to the ER. ER said during the initial overview he was very dehydrated and had a blood infection. Had he stayed at that nusing facility any longer, my dad might of died. I am thankful for those nurses who did try to care for my dad (hence the 1 star) but for some of the other staff and the way they handled this whole situation, it left a sour taste in my mouth. Oh and to top it off, the day we requested to take my dad home, one of the wheelchair bound patients that shares the room with him needed to go use the bathroom and the cleaning staff said he had to wait 30-45 minutes on top of the time he spent waiting for them to clean! Just wow!
