This is based on a Red Cross van that was at my work to get donations.

This was my first experience with giving blood so I was unaware of the entire process.

Once I was done, I was asked how I felt and I felt fine, so I told them so. They then said 'Thanks and have a great day' and sent me on my merry way. So I proceeded to leave the trailer and head to my car. I then had a snack bar and some water and began driving home. Less than 10 minutes later I began to have shortness of breath, my body temperature began to rise and I started seeing black spots. I figured that I was about to faint, so I tried to pull over as soon as possible. I honestly do not remember pulling over. When I opened my eyes, I had blurred jumpy vision but I could tell that I was facing a gas pump at the Chevron station with my foot on the brake, I managed to put myself into park and slumped over on the window seal. After a few minutes I realized I was in the way of traffic, so I managed to pull myself into a parking space where I remained for the next two hours, unable to drive.

Thankfully, I was OK and didn't hurt anyone else. However, I was informed by family and friends later who have donated blood in the past that they have always been told to stay after for at least 15-20 minutes after due to the effects donating might have on a person. None of the three people working there said any such thing to me, not told me to have a snack and juice. Hence, why I wanted to leave this review so that this does not happen again to anyone in the future.

I have tried to contact the manager at this location to let them know of my experience, with no response.

If I could, I'd give five stars but since I'm trying not to show an incredible bias ... If you're not aware of all that the American Red Cross does, take the time to look closer. You'll be glad you did.

My son and I both had appointments to donate blood this morning. The mobile bus did not show up. We never received a call to notify us that they would not be there. A complete waste of our time.

I am very proud to be a volunteer with the American Red Cross. They have the best employees caring and very sensitive to the victims needs and the way they respond is incredible. Working with them for about 7 years make me a better person. I cherish every moment I volunteer with them. What I like the most is the way they express the gratitude they have for all volunteers. They are the best organization in the North Texas Region.

My sister lost her apartment today due to fire and about 20-30 other people and the red cross did absolute nothing. Saying people have to stay with family or go to shelter. Because it's to many people and they dont have enough money. That's absolutely ridiculous when your taken donation and people money every day but you cant help people in need. That's really sad I will never make another donation again if you cant help people especially with kids in need. You should of at least help the 2 family who completely lost everything.

I was a victim of hurricane Harvey and had roof damage. The only help the Red Cross would give me is cleaning supplies. All this money, millions, if it didn't go to the victims directly, who did it go too.... ? Fraud.

Red Cross needs to return supplies stolen from churches in Houston! How dare you!!! Shame on you!!! This is why I never donate to Red Criss my uncles who are many told us how in WWII the Red Cross charged soldiers for tooth paste and brushes and other essentials while Salavation Army gave them to them for free. Please donate to the Salavation Army or Churches Red Cross is about the almighty dollar and not the victims of Harvey!!!!

I will tell you why Red Cross does not have any money and does not help any people out because the people who are supposed to be donating their time to answer phones or that work in there are actually being paid $14 an hour when it supposed to be a nonprofit organization you are supposed to donate your time For free so it s technically no longer a nonprofit organization because they re paying them ploy ease

I had an appointment to donate blood today and I showed up and checked in and went into a room with about 10 other people who were waiting also. The person that checked me in told two other people waiting that it was going to be another 20 minutes. I asked how long the wait was and he said over an hour. Another person there said he had been waiting two hours and another person said he had been waiting an hour and forty five minutes. I left. I was very disappointed. Not a very efficient organization. They are going to lose donors if they make them wait for long periods of time.

Beware of appointment times! After getting numerous calls from Red Cross about a blood shortage, I ended up making an appointment at this location after ironically, not being able to find any drives near me since they were all full.

After driving 30 minutes to get to a 5pm appointment, I ended up waiting outside because there was no one at the front desk. By the time someone came for me, I was told that office was closed and that I was late as well. When I told them I had come on time but had waited outside because there was no one there, I was rudely turned away. I think if they explained they had a backlog, I would have understood more. Instead, I felt scolded for something that I didn't do.

Now that I'm looking at their hours, it says the office closes at 4:30pm, so why did Red Cross schedule me for a 5pm appointment? Doesn't make much sense...

Anyways, if you're going to come here, choose earlier time slots.

I went there for blood donation and they didn't know how they do it, they were playing music very loud and busy making conversations with each other, the blood was coming out and bleeding on my arm, I said thank you I don't want to donate, they tried to blame me for moving my arm and I didn't move it at all . Do not go there .
