Deplorable consulting service, manager not listening to the envy of the consultants, I had to extend my probationary period so that he understood that I did not like it and when they proposed me missions, they had not nothing to do with my curriculum. In short, I left this scam after 6 months, it is not missions "engineer" they offer you, they are missions that nobody wants and you propose them, saying that you have to get some skills (small advice, do not hesitate to extend your trial period to find elsewhere).

Other than that, it is better to look for other things from a year. His promises regarding mobility and training are still inaccessible. Consultant at Alten for a year and a half, I do not recommend at all:
1): False speech / hypocrisy: the consultant's main interlocutors are the IR and RC, it's just sickening to hear them sell the box with this same speech, the same figures, everything is wonderful, knowing that they themselves resign in turn of arms. Over a year and a half I had 4 managers (3 resignations) ...

2) "Office tour": In 2020 at Alten to find a mission for a consultant, we do not use a database with profiles / skills, we take you on the "office tour".
Like cattle, your "RI" takes you for a walk in the offices, "I present to you Michel Dupond, he is a Java developer, is anyone interested?", The salespeople who stare at you before releasing with a disgusted air "no me I have nothing "," neither do I ".
And we are paraded like that from floor to floor, from one open space to another.

3) Customer interview: at one point your profile still sticks with a mission. And we are sent for an interview with the client ... in packages of 3 consultants.
Basically eat, the most important for us Alten is that no matter which one is taken, we will touch our margin.

4) On a mission: you are staying with the client, goal achieved for Alten, they will receive their money. And suddenly you, you no longer exist, radio silence.
Oh yes, they have a "process" (3 months, 6 months, 9, 12 ...) which means that on these dates they suddenly come into contact with you, it allows them in their tools to "validate the stage" , like what we come back to hypocrisy ...

5) Salary: what is offered is very low, by negotiating hard at the entrance I managed to get a salary in the middle / low range.
Increase, it's simple none.

6) Training: simple too, none. By the way, what was sold to me at the entrance ... "we pay you such training", "the rise in competence of the consultant" ...

7) CE: nullissime

8) Management of the consultant on departure: I was very serious in my work, very satisfied client. After sending my resignation to Alten, well, we don't talk to you in the same way anymore, we talk to you badly, in a very harsh, aggressive way. What's happening ? Resignations and hiring are part of the daily life of a business, you should know that.
Great lack of maturity.

Conclusion, you are what you are, a box that will attract the inexperienced junior fresh out of school or someone who absolutely must find a job to eat / bills.
Via Alten I have been working for a large telecoms company, your client clearly does not think well of you and is switching en masse to Altran and Proservia.
Potentiel consultant traces your path there is better, clearly.

To those who claim that Alten does in the butcher shop "Intellectual Meat Factory", you are surely not made for the benefit, find a company and hide yourself there 20 years if it suits you better.
Personally I was offered all kinds of missions, some more interesting than others, but we have the luxury of being able to make a choice among the projects that our sales managers strive to find ... To you to know how to express this what you want and where you want to go.

Admittedly, the hiring salary for young graduates is not exorbitant, to them I will answer them to prove themselves instead of hoping that everything falls to them miraculously from the sky. Again, the service may not be for you Or show your curiosity, your desire to evolve and gain recognition from your peers, and customers to submit to your Alten officials.

In less than a year at Alten I had great opportunities, integrated beautiful teams on customer site, in environments conducive to my rise in skills. Customer satisfaction and recognition also enabled me to take on responsibilities within Alten, a real driver for my early career.

In addition to these technical and managerial aspects, activities are organized between consultants of a Business Unit, it's nice to have a drink for an aperitif, escape game, go-karting or other work with colleagues!

I agree with most of the negative opinions, a factory for intellectual slaves, I especially address young people who are leaving school. do not make the same mistake as me by accepting a position with them, believe me you will be underpaid and you will quickly realize it. we treat you like ...
you are disrespectful and you scratch the least possible euro on your pay slip (day of leave refused the next day or the day of the leave granted to make it go on leave without pay when it was asked a few days before), a mutual that I took 7 months to have but that I paid on day 1 of my hiring ...
no regular monthly follow-up with your manager (we send you to customers and basta, you are just a simple number that we sell for gold)


let me give you my opinion on the reasons for this pseudo association, this opinion engages only me, I will therefore use my right of freedom of expression, even if deep down I think I am deeply right and other consultant there were pretty much all agree with me, but hey maybe i'm wrong =):
-We try to crack those who can't be replaced by a client so that they resign on their own.
-For others, the fact that it is a status of association, we are exempt from tax: no employer charges and tax deduction at the end of the year from the salary paid to the consultant.
all of this to piss you off (and earn a few miserable euros) instead of playing the game like most IT services companies and accepting that we can find ourselves on an inter contract a few days between 2 missions.

For all those who doubt the technical performance ...

For all those who doubt the technical performance and the humanity of the company ALTEN, I invite you to read the following:
I worked at ALTEN for 3 weeks before being fired on a Friday by a queue received at 5:00 p.m. without NO warning.
The signing of my contract was done thanks to the large sweep of young graduates that HR carry out to recruit an army of naive and manipulable consultant.
I was supposed to start at ALTEN on October 2, 2017. So no pose for me.
A week before I started, I was in great demand by the "business managers". In the end, my contract with ALTEN started on September 26. So I had to ask leave without entry balances (very frowned upon) to ensure my move and my installation in my new hard-found apartment.
After meeting with different "business managers" in the sector, several of them contacted me to offer me multiple and varied missions. Some were really interesting but required a wait of 2 weeks to inter contract before I was integrated into the client.
My business engineer (who resigned 2 weeks after the start of my contract) strongly advised me not to do an inter-contract period (for profit reasons for ALTEN). So I accepted a mission which was to last 3 months with a position to be filled as quickly as possible (hence my start on September 26 and not on October 2).
To "sell" their consultants to their clients, ALTEN performs a very hypocritical practice: after your hiring you must complete a Technical File, which corresponds to a detailed CV where we explain in detail our previous efforts and the tools and technologies under control. However, when a "business manager" is interested in your DT (Technical File) because he has identified ONE element that interests the client on the mission in question; it asks your business engineer and the sector manager to "highlight" this element. This is when your DT is modified and retouched to highlight this experience or mastery with great exaggeration. This gives the impression for the client, when the "business manager" offers him your DT, to make it appear that you are specially trained for this mission. Thereafter, if the client retains your DT, you conduct an interview with it and the "business manager" responsible for this mission. If you are not stupid and know what you are talking about, despite an exaggerated DT, the client retains your profile and the mission begins.
In my case, I was sent on a mission that I was sold as "VBA development". In the end my mission was to speed up macros already created (which is no longer in my skills).
After 3 weeks of hard work to speed up macros from more than 5000 lines of a client, I was starting to reach the goal.
It was then that the manager of the Aerospace / Defense / Security sector of ALTEN contacted me to thank me without warning ... I asked to change my mission to do something that is more in my skills, even if it had to involve a period of inter contra, but nothing to do, the sector manager had already sent the papers to fire me without even consulting me before.

A lot A lot of negative feedback from all my colleagues knowing that I have changed my mission and each time it's the same criticism.
I strongly advise you against this crook company who change managers every week ....
