Alon's is a French bakery, however it has products from other countries as well. It is a nice place to have a brunch with friends. The environment is welcoming, and comfy. I love the lentil soup and tomato soup with artisanal bread they sale. They have vegetarian and vegan options. The only thing I didn't like was the way the cashier treated me. Black girl with a bitter and rude attitude. I'll still come back tho...lol

I use to go here all the time for lunch to get their salads because they are so good until I found a bug in my salad. I quickly lost my appetite and thank goodness I hadn't taken a bite of it yet. I called and a woman apologized for it and told me to come back and they will take care of it. When I got there I told the cashier that initially rung my salad up and he called the MOD. I told him there was a bug in my salad and he opened it and I showed him where it was and he took the bug out and kept inspecting it as if he didn't believe it was a bug. I mean it was clearly one of those flying ants that still had wings and antennas attached. After looking at the bug he then laid the bug on the counter. How gross is that?? I don't remember him putting it in the trash either. He asked for my receipt and the cashier explained he couldn't give me one because their system went offline after he charged my card. The MOD looked for my transaction and handed me a refund receipt but he refunded the wrong card. He couldn't find my transaction so I pulled up my bank account to see if there was a charge and it was there "pending" along with the other salad that I paid for the day before. I showed it to him and he said that he couldn't refund my money because he couldn't locate the transaction which means it didn't go through especially if it is showing "pending" on my account. I explained to him that the transaction from the day before is still showing "pended" so does that mean that one won't go through either. He said the charge should fall off and if not to give them a call. He asked if I wanted something else to replace it and I said no after seeing a bug in my food and all I want is my money back. Again he said there was nothing he could do. I left out of that place very upset because I felt like I was a loyal customer that spent a good bit of money there every month and I ended up with no lunch and a charge on my account that I just checked. Which means I will have to go back there just to make sure I see them refund my money back to me. They get plenty of customers but I will no longer be a customer of theirs after this experience and I'll never recommend this place again. If I could post a picture of the salad I would...

I can understand how someone would rate this place so high depending on how they came in. If you came in for a product or some basic pastry then you left, that's an easy five stars if the product was good. Now what about people who eat inside for breakfast or eat take out? Not the same kind of review.
I honestly feel this place is overrated. I have had brunch here a few times and I'm still not understanding the big deal. I understand the prices slightly because the ingredients are premium. The food is OK but nothing spectacular. The staff is fairly nice but needs some polishing. Too much socializing but not enough attention to customer service. I am pretty sure the staff just cooks but they never eat there. I have asked for a description of food and other things in the store/restaurant a few times but they seem very vague about what's involved. I give one star for premium ingredients and another for being an entertaining environment. I feel they could use customer service tutorial, more product knowledge, and a slight revisiting of the flavor of the food. It's not nasty but it's far from 5 star great.

Overpriced, they don't care if they have your business if feels. We are insignificant customers. So many places around Atlanta that are opening that have better service, food and coffee. I won't be returning.

I recently had an informal meeting at Alon s Bakery & Market. During that meeting we enjoyed the calming ambiance we found. It allowed us to communicate effectively and be very comfortable doing so. Once the meeting concluded I ordered a light breakfast and reviewed the progress that was made.
I highly recommend this space as good place for informal meetings and the food was very good as well. They offer a huge variety of reasonably priced healthy choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can t go wrong.

I went on Thursday, June 20, 2019. I purchased a meal that was already prepared and went to the register in the middle where the coffee was prepared. A Caucasian female who seemed to be about 5 feet, with dark hair a she and wore a black hat and eyeglasses rang up my meal. In fact she waited on me twice as my friend and I returned to the counter to get a dessert. And both times she was exceptionally rude and unfriendly. She acted as if I bothered her by asking if they had gluten free desserts. She responded so fast with the description that I couldn't even understand her.

If the food wasn't good and the other employees that we encountered weren't friendly, I would've rated it much lower. I wondered why a female customer walked away before me had blurted out, "They are so g** d*** rude..." as she stormed out. This was my first visit to this establishment that came highly recommended. I'll return again but hopefully I won't have to encounter that female again.

Strictly from their grocery offerings, you can find more interesting and less expensive items at the nearby Cost Plus World Market. That being said, what they do have is unquestionably top-quality.

Agree with others here that have commented on the customer service not being up to par. I did a catering order from them last year for Valentine's Day and upon unpackaging everything at home that night realized basic parts of the order were wrong and/or missing. I called and spoke to Catalina in catering and she issued me a $25 credit. OK. So, I try again this year and once again order catering for Valentine's Day. I go to their Perimeter location to pick up my order. Nobody is at the front register. It's not even open. Lots of customers. I look around aimlessly and ask a server if they can help me. They kindly go fetch my order from the back and have me sign for it. While waiting for them I picked up a couple of extra desserts at the coffee bar. I want to pay for them. The line at the coffee bar is very long and I have a tired baby waiting in the car (with hubby). So I ask if there's another register for me to pay at. They send me to the back. No one there is manning the register either. They are ladleing soups and making sandwiches and tell me they'll be with me when they can. So I turn around and go back to the the coffee bar area to see if someone can help me (i.e. get me reinserted into the line that has formed OR get someone on another register). The girl I spoke with was completely unsympathetic and tells me "the time you are taking to argue with me here you could be spending waiting in the line over there". Are you kidding me? I promptly and sadly handed over my packaged desserts and walked out. I did ask to speak with a manager to see if I could quickly offer some feedback but three employees looking couldn't find one and I couldn't spend another minute waiting in that chaos. So, here's some feedback if anyone in management there cares - ensure the place is staffed with staff trained to be aware of customer needs and courteous, and have your front register open on a busy holiday Saturday. You literally are losing business and customers. I wasn't the only one there who looked perturbed and underwhelmed. I seriously love the food but I don't have patience for poor customer service, even more so when I'm paying premium prices.

Very cool place to eat & shop. Lunch- great groceries- coffee. They've got pre-made meal you can take home & a good selection of groceries in general if your tastes lean towards Europe.

One of the most fun, healthy, and casual places to go for lunch in this area. They have a great deal on 1/4 rotisserie chicken (at lunch) 8-9$! But some "heavier" items can get overpriced in my opinion, in their premade (pre-prepared) section in the back.

Coffee is a good deal too- and a good bit better than Starbucks!

I've been coming here almost everyday for the past year. Phenomenal bread and pastry. One of the best I tried in US. However, the service can be lacking sometimes. They need to figure out their logistics when it comes to ordering, paying and getting the food to the customers. That being said, pastries make up for all the flaws

Alon's is a great spot for quick, tasty grab and go options as well as to hang out & visit or get some work done. It is a bustling little spot with great energy - when you walk in it feels like you are in another country.

Desserts and bakery are excellent but pricey. The mini fruit cheesecake, cookies and breakfast goods are top-notch. Cheese section is wonderful. Staff will offer recommendation and free samples. Wine selection is nice with unique offerings and reasonable pricing.

The prepared foods are hit or miss -- look beautiful but flavor and quality too often disappointing.

It's a lot of fun just to browse thru this entire place -- it is a wonderful market, just be prepared to pay accordingly.

I have only lived in the metro-Atlanta area for a couple of years now and had not heard of Alon's. I just happened upon it when out shopping. I'm glad I learned of this place. They have food that you can order there, which I did. I had the steak and eggs that was very good and tender. They also have just about every cheese, bread, and dessert you could imagine. I am a little disappointed there is not one closer to the Kennesaw area. I think this would be a great place for gifts for others. I will definitely try to make my way back there in the future.

The staff here is rude and not so helpful I must say. We visited this place twice and got similar experience both the times. The lady here made us to wait so long to take the order, only to say that they dont have the items anymore. Pastries and cakes collection is limited. Taste is good for the ones that are available.

I feel like this is a diamond in the rough it's behind a couple of other buildings but once you find it this can be an amazing adventure as a store is so many different flavorful foods and even a wine selection.

I was here for Mother's day and for Father's day. The buffet they served on Mother's day was delicious. During Father's day they just served one special dish but food is always great at this place. There is a small market where you can buy different gourmet items. This is must place in Atlanta, I like it specially for brunch.

Great European style bakery! The owner is Israeli so many items on the menu are Middle Eastern themed. The ambiance of the cafe is great, very chic. They have a bakery, deli and prepackaged goods area with a coffee bar in the center of the store which also has pastries in a glass case.

My favorite items in the whole shop are the harissa tuna sandwich and pecan chocolate chip cookies, which are sold by the pound. I have to say, the chocolate chip cookies are the BEST I've ever tasted, not even exaggerating. They are mine and my husband's favorite cookies by far.

The place can get busy during lunch time and on the weekends so if you're planning to eat in the small sitting area inside or outside, plan ahead.

It's a pricey place no doubt, but it's more for the novelty of the items sold so it's worth it once in a while.
