Was here for Mardi Gras / Shrove Tuesday. The Crepes with caster sugar and lemon were absolutely divine. Lovely views over the cricket grounds of Trinity College. Got to use a few of my French words. Lovely athmosphere in a quiet corner on city busy Nassau Street.

Rating new Chez Max Cafe at Alliance Francaise: Self -serve. Croque Monsieur was pretty good but my companion thought cheese salad plate awful. The accompanying 'toast' was soggy and salad likewise. Queued for second glass of wine...checkout not yet trained to offer receipt for credit card. We hope it will all improve.

As the name implies this is a center for French expats or anyone who loves France and French stuff! They have a French library and a lovely French cafe serving simple but honest French food. Every now and then, they also organise a free screening of a French movie.
