I have been with Mike and his team for several years now, and without hesitation, I can say there is no other person or group that will work harder for you or with you. Most years I have several W-2's and many itemized deductions as a contractor. The service was quick and reasonably priced. I usually use tax software but this year's return was particularly complex. Mike handled it all and I had piece of mind and saved several days worth of research. It was well worth the minimal difference in price.

The short version. They shorted me thousands of dollars and then wouldn't return my calls or emails.
The Long Version
I used Alliance Financial with Mike Mead to file my 2014 income tax returns. They filed my returns without my authorization and I was shorted $2,514.75 and my state tax return was rejected. I had questions concerning the rental property deductions that were inaccurate prior to my returns being filed. I have email correspondence documenting my questions about my return and Alliance Financial s requests for my authorization signature to file my returns.
I had a phone interview with Mike Mead on a Friday where I explained the errors in the rental property deductions. I told him I would sign the authorization form once the deductions were corrected. I was told he would look into it. I received my return the following Monday. (Meaning my returns were already submitted during my conversation with Mike Mead and I never signed the authorization form.) I contacted them repeatedly through email and phone calls and never received a return call or email.
I had to pay another accountant to file an amended return which was approved by the IRS. The cost of the original return to Alliance Financial $410, correcting the return $2,060, and the lawyer $730.87 I paid to send Alliance Financial a letter requesting reimbursement of the costs ended up costing $3,200.87. I received the remainder of my federal tax return in February 2016 for $2,514.75 and my state tax return of $904 was received in January 2016 after being resubmitted by the other accountant.
I would recommend this place to everyone! Mike and his staff were extremely friendly and welcoming to me! I had a bit of a complicated situation this year and Mike provided reassurance that it would be taken care of and followed through. Not only that but he answered every question we had and even opened himself up to help us with making sure that future years were made simpler by making adjustments to tax withholdings. 10/10

This was the first year I used AFIT for handling my tax returns. Previously I had used another tax preparer for over 15 years. This was the first year that we decided to have a professional handle our taxes instead of doing it ourselves. I had to stop working with this firm due to the lack of confidence I have with the accounting and allocations on my accounting software by their accountant. I have to constantly request for corrections on how things are allocated and I know my income is not what they state it is. Before I met with Mike I did an estimated tax return calculator from H&R Block and it said that I was to get a $900 refund.
