The airport is currently undergoing renovations and looks great. If you love Art Deco or just historical buildings please check.

I see they are working inside of the building. Will look much better.

I remember my parents used to take me to the country airport when I was young, way back in the 60's and 70's. I stopped out there today to watch the planes take off and land. Very therapeutic. If you haven't done so, take your kids out there on a nice day.

Went had a great Helicopter tour of the Pittsburgh region with Pittsburgh Heli. Highly recommend. Great people and service with safety first.

One of the cooler old airports still with heavy use. From its opening in 1931 until the opening of PIA in 1952 it was the main airport of Pittsburgh. This building is a great example of art deco applied to airports. When originally opened this was the third largest airfield in the US and the only one that was paved. If there is an airshow, or visiting craft of significance, I strongly encourage you to attend!

The county airport is a great place to take the kids to watch planes land and take-off. They often do demonstrations or have tours of classic planes here (check the website for details). The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and willing to answer aviation questions as they are able. The facility is clean and well-maintained though it is showing its age and could use an update.
