This was the best medical encounter I've ever experienced. Not the best news, but the best treatment. The emergency room visit was incredibly fast, and thorough, and all of the nurses, doctors, and others were professional, competent, and actually seemed to care about me as a person. All aspects were top notch (except the egg white breakfast; not a fan of egg whites) :-) Highly recommended institution.
Our stay at Alaska Regional was absolutely, without question a great experience because of the great nurses and doctors that took such great care of my wife and brand new baby. Marie RN and Rose RN along with Dr. Strictland from Alaska Women's Health and Tom CRNA were an amazing team down in labor and delivery along with Marissa RN and Sarah RN on the mother baby unit - all had exceeded our expectations with the care we received as a family. Not to mention the accommodations of the hospital that made us feel so welcomed and truly cared for. As a father throughout this entire process it was great to feel included in the care/process as well. My wife and I cannot thank Alaska Regional enough for our experience. Thank you!
I went to Alaska Regional Hospital for a shoulder replacement. This has been the finest hospital that I have ever been treated at. From the beginning of my admission I was treated with compassion and competency. The staff was truly amazing, the doctor and nursing care top notch and the food was good! I really felt that my care and comfort was a priority for them. All of the rooms are private and modern and while I was there they respected my privacy and need for quiet. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone who is facing a surgical procedure.
The admitting, nurses and doc, once seen, were good however the ER waiting room itself was terrible. Unhealthy/sanitary and safe conditions weren t a consideration while I was there. Security was called to deal with several unruly awaiting to be seen. A few recommendations would be to have housekeeping regularly wipe down seating, mop the floors, better air filtration, and add water and food/snack sources. It wouldn t hurt to add things to make one feel at ease and welcoming as opposed to being in an institution and processed as cattle.
Best hospital in this state. I came in on Monday in the middle of passing a gall stone. There was no wait in the ER, I Was immediately brought back and treated. Every single staff member was just as kind and compassionate as could be. You guys run an outstanding operation. Thank you for your kindness, your professionalism, and your excellent service. I am very grateful for your hard work and service. Thank you.
The staff is ALWAYS friendly. When you make an appointment time that is when they see me. Very little waiting. Seriously .. very little. My MRI and lab results came to me through the app super fast. No waiting and worrying for days and days.
During the height of Alaska's COVID delta surge, I received prompt, professional care. Fortunately I was not an ICU candidate - just surgery. All the staff was caring and kind, addressing all of my needs. I had an unexpected post-surgery complication that required an ER visit. Again, I was triaged promptly. Wait time was not terribly long for my non-critical issue. The issue was addressed. When the situation repeated itself, a call was made to the hospital for further instructions and directions for addressing it without an additional ER visit was provided.
I had a wonderful stay at Alaska Regional Hospital after my surgery. The nursing staff and therapists were so professional and instrumental in aiding me during my recovery. I gladly use their services again in the future without hesitation.

Being new to Alaska, I wasn t sure where to go, but I was genuinely impressed by the care I received in the emergency room. The staff was incredible!!! (And I tend to judge harshly, being in the medical field myself.) The speed of service, the thoroughness of the exam, the friendliness of those taking care of me, and overall quality of care were all just exceptional. I started recording their names but genuinely there were too many to list. Every single person from those admitting me, the nurses and doctors taking care of me, and the technicians administering my tests were above and beyond my expectations. I will absolutely be using this hospital exclusively for my medical needs as long as I live here.
