Al Lago Ristorante Review

We went for Mother's day brunch expecting the very best of food for $45 a plate yet it was nothing to brag about. Very disappointing. The French toast was a brick and so were the biscuits. Completely rock hard. Mind you we arrived at 10 am so the food should have been fresh. The pasta was so-so for an Italian restaurant. Dessert bar was good. The atmosphere and flowers were beautiful. The bus boys were the friendliest staff members. Sad to say we probably won't return. Thanks for the disappointing Mother's day breakfast.

Pretty old inside. Table was dirty. The food isn't delicious, especially for the price. Would not recommend this restaurant. Just waste of money.

The food was amazing! Best white cream sauce I've ever had! It was a little pricey but you definitely get what you pay for. Only downside is that the service was a little slow (there for about 2 hours from start to finish and odered one app, one salad, and one entree during a very slow lunch hour), but it's only a problem because I'm American. It would have been a standard meal time anywhere in Europe...

Really good food, nice atmosphere, fireplace or a view of Lake Tapps. What could be better? The prices are a little high.

Al Lago was the perfect place to hold a banquet for my parents' 50th wedding anniversary. The banquet coordinator made it simple for me to organize it from out of town. The food was delicious and the service was terrific! Very affordable with a beautiful view of Mount Rainier. I highly recommend Al Lago!

Another great family dinner at Al Lago! Food is consistently good. Hit happy hour tonight with great flatbread pizza and wedge salid. Yum!

My wife and I come here every so often. The waiters are outstounding. The wine list is phenomenal. The bar has a pretty good list as well. The food is prepped so well I never have any complaints eating here. My wife and I don't mind spending the extra penny to come here. Everything about this restaurant is outstanding.

Go somewhere else. I took a friend here for dinner, we were there approx. an hour, the waitress came to our table 5 times. our bill was $110.39, I left a $12.00 tip for a total of $122.00, Al Lago decided to charge my bank account $132.39. ????? still waiting for a return call from management for an explanation

Always fantastic service and great food. Great spot for a dinner out with friends and family or to host a small event. We have never been disappointed and are treated like family.

Nice atmosphere, help is slow and doesn't concentrate on details of order, cook made two mistakes after being told my his staff.

I took my wife there on a whim the other day. The food was good, though a bit on the expensive side for the location. $30 for a seafood pasta dish, is downtown prices. And I know they want you to know the foods fresh, but leaving the tails on the shrimp in a cream base dish is just a Hassel.
Our server (Michele) was very pleasant and attentive. I would say she was the highlight of our visit.
The atmosphere was nice, a little dark and hard to see the menu, but nice. The music choice playing I found odd for an upscale Italian restaurant. Your more likely to hear "Jeremy" from Peal Jams album 10, then a Frank Sinatra or Andrea Bocelli's por ti volare. Which I found strange, since most of the patrons were probably over 65.
All and all a nice place to take your wife for a night out once a year. I would say leave the children home, or your bill will probably be over $200 most likely for four people. I feel Your money would be better spent downtown in Seattle, for a nice evening with the wife. Though if your not in the mood to fight traffic, Al Lago will do in a pinch.
My three star rating is mostly do to the shrimp tails husk being left on. I can understand the clam shells. Where you may easily remove them with you silver wear. The freshness of the dish dose not rely on such details. The preparation and flavor will normally speak for itself. And it was a good meal.

Loved the food, the staff, the atmosphere. Summer months they have a nice outside seating area. I will definitely be going back

Not what I was expecting. We were seated quickly, very nice greeter. Placed our orders, and we're served our drinks promptly. My husband got his appetizer, I never received my salad. Then the main courses came. Alfredo sauce was very runny, and chicken was dry.
Check was given to us, with the salad on it. We let the server know we never got the salad, she apologized and took it off, which we appreciated.
Definitely overpriced.

The service is wonderful. The food is good but a bit expensive. Nice view and patio. Seating is comfortable. This place has a very relaxing atmosphere.

Ryan our server was fabulous. The food is always good. It offers specialty meals that can't be found anywhere else.

The service and the food was great! We had a very enjoyable time with our waitress, and the other couple we were with had a very good time!Port Sheldon you get a waitress that works with people that you are with we enjoyed very much.
