I called last week and got reservations for my husband s 72nd bday. We got there early. The other 6 members of our party were there by 12:35. My husband has recently had a total hip replacement and needed to be seated at our table instead of having to get up and down. We should have changed our plans BC the service, buffet, and the whole ordeal was ridiculous and a disappointment for my husband's bday, after us driving up and back home, an hour each way. Our waiter STAYED with another party directly behind us! We had to KEEP asking him over and over for the same thing; tooo busy to take care of our needs! The bill was right at $180, plus paying your employee so you don't have to! We'll spread the word for you! Should have gone to The Mariner s in Natchitoches, Louisiana where the food is delicious and service is superb! We won t make the same mistake again!

Went there tonight and the bartender was rude and challenged me on the the other side of the bar a fight.....The last couple of times I was there for a order to go and drank wine. Bartenders were not observant to water fill and wine fill....i was a gm at walkons and this is not customer service. Natasha the mgr approached me about the situation which was good but inquired me to take my wine to go. The heavy set white guy needs more training in awareness to be a decent bartender cause his eyes are of as well awareness....not a good employee to want to fight a customer. Smh

I'm not one to complain but this experience has left me with no other option. My wife and I decided to place an online curbside pick-up order at the Copeland's in Slidell, LA. We ordered the Shrimp Platter and the Crabcakes & Shrimp Alfredo, total price with tax including a 20% tip $48.24.

The Shrimp Platter was nothing more that a soggy frozen to fryer box lunch at best, for $20.49 I would expect something a little better than a pile of fries and onions speckled with a few shrimp, it also was supposed to come with corn fritters but I guess because I didn't check the box to add them to the order they just assumed I didn't want them, even though its right on the menu as part of the dish.

The Crabcakes & Shrimp Alfredo was even worse, the crabcakes had no crab (or very little), they literally were a fried ball of some kind of filler, if I had to guess what was in there I would say it was breadcrumbs, mayo and some kind of Cajun seasoning, the dish did have shrimp and angle hair pasta as stated on the menu but it was ruined by the sauce. It certainly wasn t your typical Alfredo as it was runny and had so much salt the whole meal was inedible. There was so much salt I literally had to spit it out to keep from being sick.

So my wife and I (hungry) shared the Shrimp platter because it was somewhat editable, that and we just spent almost $50 for what was the equivalent of a $4.99 fried shrimp box lunch from Popeye s, actually I've had those before and they are considerably better. Sad really because many years ago I had a similar experience at their location in Rockville, MD (which has been closed for 15 years or so now), I figured since I now live in the suburbs of New Orleans it would be way better, boy was I wrong, I guess all the food for all the franchises comes from a single commissary.

Al Copeland is probably rolling in his grave with how much the quality of his restaurants have gone down. With the number of restaurants closing down, I'm sure Copeland's time is going to be up sooner rather than later. The prices have gone up, while the portions have gone down; the management can't seem to adequately handle customer problems (ask me how I know); and staff really doesn't care what is served, as they don't give you what you order or make it completely wrong. Count your days, Copeland's! Only reason I'm leaving a one star is because I can't leave anything less.

Please do not waste your time, money or energy at Copeland s on the West Bank. The poor service, lack of experienced management and mediocre prepared dishes are not worth the headache. I had a valid concern that I bought to managements attention a week ago and so far all I ve gotten are apologies and empty promises over the last week. Contacted the manager Kendrick again today and received yet another I m so sorry I forgot. It s funny because they did not seem to forget to collect their money for payment of services not rendered out of my account. I implore you to patronize a restaurant that values its customers and are worthy of your hard earned money. Copelands on the West Bank won t get another chance from my family or friends.
