The security (APD and otherwise), are rude, belligerent and ignorant. I would've left the stars not marked at all if it were possible.

This is an awesome library experience in the heart of the city. They have a massive selection, tons of great resources, and a really cool layout. I highly recommend stopping by even if you aren't in the market for books.

I love going to the main library because the staff is always curious and helpful. I also enjoy all of the space and different things that are available to the public.

I love my Fairlawn library branch. The staff is wonderful and I miss them during this time when the library is closed

Very large library with more than expected and fantastic staffing

Knowledgeable & helpful staff great programming: from storytime for kids to concerts for adults. It's a creative oasis - music studio, 3D machine, computer classes and much more Although you may encounter someone with B.O. occasionally, Akron Summit County Library is one of the best places to go in Ohio DONT MISS OUT

I was impressed with the size of the library and how many books they have. Books in very good shape and a big variety on every subject I looked for

They have a lot of books but I found it very difficult to find certain nonfiction sections. Plenty of computers for internet use.

I can't imagine a resource someone would need either as an educator, job seeker, business professional, or student that the Library doesn't have. The staff is generally very friendly and helpful, it's a big facility, and there is plenty of room to find a quiet workspace. The Library is right in the middle of downtown Akron, so there is plenty of places around to break for lunch (or dinner). There are plenty of public events like free movie nights and meeting resources, like rooms for rent, for companies or organizations. On top of all that, they stay on the cutting edge with regards to technology with green screen and recording studios, vinyl and 3D printers, a laser engraver, internet access, and much more! The Library is very community oriented as well and contributes to several local organizations in various ways. The Library is a tremendous asset in the Akron area that everyone, regardless of age, should make time to explore.

The children's area is great for school age kids, but would be nicer for families if there was a carpeted area with blocks, puzzles and some educational toys for the infants and toddlers for moms with babies to do while the bigger kids scroll through the pages of their favorite book.

The Akron Library system regularly ranks #1 in the nation in the American Library Association's annual rankings. What Akron's flagship Main Library branch is doing is cutting edge and world class, from its public recording studios to 3-d printing machines to countless other amazing resources for free public use.

Fantaatic Library! The biggest one I've ever been to and more services than one could possibly drum up for a library. Very impressive.

Ok.. I'm in love. Not just because of the books. They have all kinds of cool stuff in there. A recording studio. Green screen.

As an educator I enjoy bringing my students to the library to check out books. I love giving them the choice of which book to read and I can easily incorporate their choices into my lessons. The benefits of using a library so close to school are wonderful. However, with the exception of the teen floor staff, our students are treated like criminals. Every time I bring my students to the library they are treated poorly. They are teens, they know the watchful eye they receive when in stores, etc., we talk about it at great lengths. However, in a day and time where kids are all lumped together as lazy video game players, why are they treated so poorly when they visit a public library? I would imagine in the days of eBooks, Kindles, etc. that circulation numbers aren't what they used to be. Well. perhaps the staff at the library should consider the generation they are running off when they are so rude to them. I would NEVER in a million years allow one student to treat a library staff in a rude manner, however, you all have no problem being rude to my students. Bad news, we will be back! We won't stop our love of reading just because you are not kind.

Great place to spend some time or take the kids on a rainy day. Very large library. Three floors. And the children's section is separate from the rest of the library.
The staff was very helpful and listened to my son's stories.
Plenty of places to simple crash and dive into a book!

Best place to go and get work done. One of the best areas to get peace and quiet while working or reading.

Beautiful multi-story library. Can be confusing the first time you park there.

I need info to know about my classes at library that be placed in bottom of library. I was wanted to know if i can get info but its not telling me nothing the libaray number ain't saying much that i have number why is the michen giving a number out that i called an saying they can help buy online on a web site like thats gone help it didn't help. It saying there opne now but no one answered the phone..

Great public library to serve all needs. Computers, passport services and a genealogy research service, movies every week and helpful people who seem to love their jobs.

You know a library is good when you consider moving from PA to OH to be close to it

A great Main Library for a great city! There are separate spaces for children and teens, a makerspace with tons of cool gadgets, knowledgeable and friendly librarians, and tons of interesting, fun programs. Parking is easy in the attached garage.

whats with all wasting of funds with all the goofball security guards a private company library patrol and 1 real cop at the library save some money just put 2 real cops in the library per shift and get rid of the others

Everyone is so kind and helpful!

The facility is clean, the staff is friendly and helpful and the Stray Dog Cafe is perfectly placed. I am able to let my toddler play in the children's section then grab a coffee in the cafe and a snack for my kid. They also have a state of the art Makers Space with a laser engraver, 3d printer, sewing machine, t-shirt and button press, cameras and recording equipment that can used for free, just have to bring your own materials. Amazing possibilities.

The BEST library. The people who work there are always willing to help and the access to materials is outstanding.
