Ajantha Sea View Hotel - India Review

Nice bar on roof top to spend with friend, but gets crowded,

This place *Ajantha sea view hotel*, has sea facing rooms (only 4 rooms) spacious enough, located in 2nd floor, but steeps are not steep. Nice place, neatly maintained. A bit pricey, but u will enjoy the experience here. Staff are polite and humble. Food served in room by udipi restaurant can be enjoyed sitting in balcony . If u looking for a decent place, sea facing in heart of pondy beach this is a perfect bet for u. . There is an another Ajanta beside this hotel, but rooms in this place is not directly sea facing but has a side facing room.

Food was excellent & rates are also reasonable.
Location is cherry on the cake.
Just check the bill before you pay as they add heavy service charges in bill which are optional.

In pondicherry hotels for stay itself is insufficient, there comes this hotel with a comfortable stay n with a sea view which is the rock sea, corridors of rock sea is a midnight happening place where people chill their midnight's, the stay is very very close to rock sea (50 meters) and also this stay lies in the White town itself, a mix of white town + rock sea gives the stay a really posh look

Located very close to the sea, some of the rooms have a sea view balcony. The staffs here are very helpful and most of the deliveries ordered are made in time. Price of the stay is also affordable. A walk down the lane along the sea shore is never to be missed moment.

Had lunch at the restaurant. It has a good menu and portion size. Dishes with rice+fish combo and similar are well thoughtful for single person meal. But the spice is generally very less even after ordering specifically for spicy curry and fish fry. It sounds more suited for the foreign tourists. The view is just great sitting at the balcony and enjoying lunch. Guess all these add up to the little extra priced food. But still i wud say worth once.

Can be a place to stay only if you are interested for a sea view room else all other services and cleanliness is mediocre

My favorite stay at pondicherry, been with Ajantha for 3 decades , one word excellent 10/10 .

Very Worst Food and Worst Behavior by the staff. Not even considering customer opinions and reviews. Costing like 5 star hotel but serving like road side hotel. Please thick twice before visiting the hotel.

i booked 2 rooms over phone, while we reach ajantha sea view hotel , he refused to give room for us, then we found near by ajantha beach guest house and got 2 rooms for my family. so i suggest to go ajantha beach guest house with extraordinary sea view in budget.so im giving 1 star for this property...

It's a good hotel close to the beach, the restaurant which is downstairs is ideal for families.

Drinks are available and the first floor bar has good ambience if you're looking to hangout with your friends.

Very convenient for large family or a group of families since there are two rooms each with 4 beds. It is right on the beach though these two rooms are without sea view. Narrow pathway to a lift that is small and functional. Rooms are very clean but amenities are basic.

Lovely and amazing hotel just situated beside beach with spectacular views of sea, seashores and main road.
You will get beautiful view of sunrise from this hotel. Many times rooms of this hotel are always booked because of the views and sights it offers. So one need to book well in advance if you're planning to stay.
Rooftop restaurant offers delicious, yummy variety of food, drink and desserts too.
Must visit if you're in Pondicherry during evening time.

The food, ambience and hospitality of the staff is excellent. A couple of beers with their prawns, crabs or mutton cuisines in the balcony sitting area will definitely mark a good time in your trip.

Good hotel to stay in Pondicherry. Situated on rock beach White town. Many tourist places are im close proximity. They have very limited rooms. Rooms are good and clean. Every tooms comes with the individual balconu where you can sit and enjoy the sea view. Bathroom are clean too. They have terrace restaurant too.

The place soo good... Right by the beach.. but people and somehow the hospitality is flawed...they're not rude or harmful..but there's a beauty in being subtle..which was lacking.
people waiting tables are very sweet..but others who are there seem to be too vocal about their choices for us.. anyhow..
Food and place get full 5 stars... but,if u can tolerate and get past those, u can see stars and beach and enjoy the breeze....

It's old structure of French, maintained well, rooms r compact, but the balcony view is extraordinary, worth staying here...to enjoy the scenic view of melodious waves.

The rooftop view is fantastic esp at the night .if only they could match it up better ambience ,interiors,food and service .has the potential to move up the ratings !!

Amazing service and clean ambience. This is our go to hotel for more rhan 3 times just for the location.The receptionists are so helpful and suggestive of various options on food ..room plans and they have rental car and bike

Bar-related Review : The hotel has 3 bars. One at the ground floor, one somewhere in the middle and the 3rd is housed on the rooftop. The rooftop bar has the best (sea-facing) seats and usually opens around 6ish in the evening. The drinks are a tad pricey albeit compensated by the ambience and the infrastructure of the place. The food (that I've tried so far) is nothing out of the ordinary.

Too much costly..Service is not that much good..Waiters are rude, they don't know how to deal with customers..Only thing is sea view point ...I won't recommend to my friends...

Easily one of the best restaurants Ive ever been to.The rooftop is adjacent to the Promenade walk way and the view from there looks really beautiful,with waves from the sea hitting towards the seashore.

Food is surprisingly good seeing the state of the restaurant. The serving time is quite long. The vegetarian dishes are quite good and a special shout out goes out to mixed vegetables which was yum. The beef chilly was specially nice too so was the view and our outdoor seating. We wanted to mainly have simple vegetarian food which was amazing. The dal tadka was very nice too. The in hotel ambiance was not that great therefore the four stars.

A beautiful hotel with a sea view. Ajantha is located in White Town just opposite to promenade beach. Good food and comfortable stay. Besides there are many tourist attraction nearby like Le Cafe, Sri Aurobindo Ashram and others.

I have booked this place for 2nights. Saturday and Sunday. However, it is not recommended with kids as they have two bar and Restaurants 1st and 3rd floor. The rooms are in 2nd floor. Except the beach view there is nothing in this place.

If you would like to get drunk and sleep. No doubt please book it. This is in the busiest street Rock Beach everything is 15-20 mins from here.

House keeping didn't clean the room in two days and not even offered a water bottle. Also, 5k was too high for the place. Additional bed 400 but no bill we didn't choose either.

They don't turn off the balcony lights unless you insist. The smoke and liquor flows to room and will make you uncomfortable.

A balcony with brilliant view of the sea. You can sit there for hours and time will just pass by. We stayed there for 2 days in a standard room. There is a udipi hotel in the ground floor and a restobar at the roof. Both have good food. So no need to worry on the immediate food part. You can roam around and also find great food. But if you're really hungry on your arrival, you can confidently order food from here. If you're a person who cannot live without internet, this place isn't for you. There's barely any network inside and the WiFi is at snail's pace and doesn't connect nicely. But that also adds up to the point that you're on vacation so leave your phone aside and enjoy. Tariff is a bit on the higher side probably because of sea view. No parking place for this hotel. You have to park your vehicle in Beach parking which is walkable. Overall good experience of staying here.

Good place to enjoy a relaxed meal by the sea. Serves alcohol too. Not exactly cheap, but not too costly either.

No one but then to avoid absolutely! The server asks us to leave to make room for new customers while we have not finished our consumption. The service is deplorable, the server has forbidden us to make a card game, do not catch a smile. The evening begins badly ...

Best place in Whitetown to enjoy the sea breeze and sea view along with a drink. One can get a table on the balcony and gaze at the crumbling and splashing waves. Will surely plan to visit the place once more

It used to be an awesome place. But now it's noisy and the sound system blaring music at high volume... Makes it impossible to have a nice evening...
