After suffering from soreness on a sweltering ride in Indianapolis last year, I bought this cushion before embarking on a 1600+ kilometer trip around Lake Huron. It was the perfect real-world test. I noticed the "medium cruiser" pad was nearly $100 cheaper than the dual sport version, with the only visual difference being a red stripe on the smaller model. Since my Triumph Tiger is more of a versatile tourer than a true dual sport, the local parts expert helped me confirm the larger pad was the better, more cost-effective fit for my bike. Buying in-store was smart because I could test the feel on the bike itself, and the price difference compared to online shipping was negligible. As for performance, it’s a game-changer. Unlike the gel pad I used previously, which did little for my discomfort, the Airhawk keeps me cool and eliminates pressure points by distributing weight evenly. The "floating" sensation when accelerating is unique but becomes second nature quickly. I adjusted the inflation to about half-full, which provided just enough support to keep me connected to the bike without feeling too rigid. The straps and non-slip rubber base hold it securely in place, making it easy to remove for security when parked. It’s a premium-priced solution, but for $160, the engineering and comfort it provides on long, hot days are absolutely worth the investment.
