Fortunately, we are customers of Asssa for about two years and fortunately we only had to take the insurance for a few things for small things. Recently, however, I had an emergency during a stay in Germany (stinging in the chest).
So we contacted the insurance company before visiting a doctor in Germany to find out exactly what the procedure is. We have then called a phone number, which we should call within 3 days. The first call from Germany, the employee could not understand me correctly. I then called again two days later, when I was back in Spain and after I was in Germany at the doctor.
This time we were told, they will call us back. When the call did not take place, I contacted Asssa again. Here I was told that the insurance that has to pay, the ERV is. We did not know that until then. We pay our contributions to Asssa and not to ERV.
We should then submit all the documents and also the copy of the telephone bill to prove that we have really called within 3 days. All information came in succession, which we find very faulty. In a situation in which you need help, I felt more burden than was helped me. I then told the colleague that it would be too much for me and that I would pay the bill myself.
When I submitted a Google review (this one, which I am currently reviewing), everything went really fast. I got a call from another lady who offered me help and she did so. Why this was not offered directly in the first contact? The employee has then forwarded all documents and the insurance has paid me in the meantime, the cost of the doctor (about 350 ). The bill for medicines of just about 80 was not paid. I did not receive an answer why.
Already at the end of the first phone call, the employee asked me to delete the Google rating or adjust and clarify that Asssa is not the insurance, but ERV. I then re-stated that I'll handle everything as soon as it's done. As a reminder, I pay my contributions to Asssa and not to ERV.
Several times I was then contacted in the next days by phone until I hung up because I felt pressured. Today I received a Mail from another employee, which has informed me, among other things, that I should delete or edit the post, because it does not correspond to the truth. Also, she offered me more help, if the case was not clear, since the ERV has already paid in the meantime, that is partly true. So I edit the post so hereby and make it clear:
Yes, I have now received money after having a lot of trouble and continue, Yes, I will terminate the contracts with Asssa at the next earliest possible date. Because I personally have the impression that Asssa has only taken care of me, when I wrote a review on Google.
This is my personal impression. From my experience, I can not recommend Asssa, busy me an invoice of just under 350 now for several weeks. What happens when you have bigger problems? And that too is just my personal opinion and feeling.
As far as the ERV is concerned, I will post separately, because the behavior of the employee who did not call me back caused these things.

I have just taken out Health Insurance with Asssa. The service was very professional with all the steps explained in detail. I. Visited the office on several occasions and was well received, no waiting around, appointments on time.
No problems with communication during my visits as I only speak a little Spanish the process was carried in English as was e-mails and telephone conversations. Big thankyou to J. Quiles for all your help!!

When I signed the insurance papers, I was told by my insurance agent that I should just let her know when I didn't need the insurance anymore and it would not be a problem at all to cancel it. When I contacted her in January to let her know that I would only be needing the insurance for three more months (she knew I was going back sometime in 2018), she told me I had to pay for the insurance until December 31st. Very bad communication from their side! I will not recommend this insurance company to anyone.

I opted to apply for a policy with this company based on no rise in premiums and they offered the cover I required.

I d previously had an ultra sound over a year ago, which was clear. They wanted to see a copy and said if I could get these results to them the application would expedited and approved that day. I got it to them within 4 hours.
I had a phone call to say they had declined my application and refused to tell me why. The previously very friendly lady was now rude and abrupt.
I am a healthy 39 year old man and all results were clear.
I asked to speak with somebody senior to gain some clarification of the decision. The finance director phoned me. He refused to tell me what reason they had to decline my application.
There was no reason to decline me. The doctors report and scan provided to them indicate this. They wasted a week of my time.
I requested all information they hold on me under GDPR regulations. They failed to fully respond to my request for information held on me. Large amounts of the request were omitted. My Emails were often ignored.
When eventually, they did respond, I was told that my request was excessive . It was a reasonable and basic request and nothing about it was excessive in my opinion.
From my experience, I would never advise anybody to use ASSA. There are larger well known alternatives.
