It's a smaller concert hall so who's playing will obviously impact the experience. Very old, very used, could probably use a little update but they serve tall boy beer by the can and the staff is as friendly as you would expect from a team that deals with drunk idiots a lot. No food when we've gone. If it's a band you like you'll definitely get an intimate setting.

Should be zero stars, I went in after covid had shut them down for 3 months, and immediately got turned away for having an unopen red bull tht they sold me. So we went outside finished that red bull and tried to get back in and they said " no". Plus I had to through out 5 shooters, in conclusion never visit this theater or enjoy anything they do. If a business wants to last over a pandemic maybe they should notice how some people may have financial restrictions that cuase them not to be able to purchase a over priced cocktail from a pretentious bartender who's only life goal is to have power trip over someone who is wants to purchase and maybe brought in a few drinks. Staff was very passive aggressive and not friendly

The walls and ceiling are painted black, to better accent the performers onstage. It has a bar, if that's your thing. The atmosphere is very loud, even before the event (in my case, a bluegrass concert) starts, but that's the atmosphere. The trees out front in the sidewalk were nice, and the brick building has an oldies flare to it.

This venue is doing a fantastic job of hosting Socially Distanced events!
Tables have enough space around them to dance while maintaining safe distancing, the servers are attentive and polite, the security is diligent and hospitable.
It was great to dip my toes back into nightlife for the first time in a year, and I didn't feel like I drastically endangered myself doing so.
Well done, Aggie Staff!

Don't go to this place if you're expecting a chill...

Don't go to this place if you're expecting a chill, easy-going atmosphere to see bands you love. A friend and I (22 and 21, respectively) head in to see Red Fang and two other groups. Tickets were a non-issue, prices were reasonable, and they only hassled me about my ID for a few minutes (I am out of state so I am used to this). Bands performed great and it sounded alright. However, my friend had a flask, which I didn't know about and was stupid, and apparently some hawk-eyed, lumberjack-ogre looking security guy saw it in his pocket (he hadn't even opened it) and took it from him. So we thought all was well, oh well, he lost his flask. Nope! Shrek comes back a few minutes later and says "we need to talk to you up front" to my friend, and apparently acts all cool at first, but kicks him out of the show due to his actions. Meanwhile there are people smoking joints and cigarettes left and right, and nobody does anything about it.

I realize my friend was breaking the rules, however, in my opinion, they could have handled this more responsibly. Him and I were both of-age, wearing wristbands, and each holding a drink we had obviously purchased at the bar there. We spent probably $20 each at the bar. The place seems to be run in a zero-tolerance manner, and in my opinion, that attitude ruins venues like these. There are meaty security guys trolling the place with flashlights constantly during the show, which is just not necessary. The management apparently feels the need to protect their bar income so badly that they used cheap excuses such as "you could have been providing alcohol to minors" and "it violates our alcohol policy" as a reason to kick my friend out. I'm sorry, and I know my friend was in the wrong, but such aggression to your customers for such a commonly occurring thing just isn't cool. They make it seem like they're entitled to have you in there, feeding them money, and if you make one wrong move, you're out. I'm not sure if it is the venue getting in trouble with local police over intoxicated minors or what, but such policing of the audience would need to be put to an end for me to return to this venue. There are much more responsible ways of dealing with such instances than intimidation and expulsion. Kicking paying customers out over such silly circumstances is a great way to ruin someone's perspective of a place, and prevent them from returning.

And despite being kicked out, they never gave the flask back.

This place can have some great shows. Aside from that, it's one of the worst venues to see a concert. Bartenders will routinely charge you for things not ordered, and the security will literally assault you. This place can be dangerous. Be on serious guard if you go here.

Always in first a good time at the Aggie. When out of towners come this is a place I make sure we go to. The layout is personal without being crowded and the bar is in the perfect location so no fighting to get to it. Never been disappointed by the facility or the staff.

The acoustics and lighting were decent in this theatre; however, that's about it. It was very hot inside during a show, and they set up a weird fence inside the theatre for people who wanted to drink alcohol (which was about everyone there) so it became quite cramped quickly. Might be a better idea to make shows 21+ to let people move around freely and possibly dance from time to time.

Super cool small rustic venue. It was easy to get a beer and it wasn't too expensive. This is the only venue I've been to where the sound was so perfect that I could hear the lyrics of the songs.

Once in awhile you get a solid band come through. Lots of times it simply isn't my cup of tea. Too much hip-hop and metal music. I wish there were more indie bands coming through. I saw Two Gallants here and it was a good time. However, the people who frequent here are a little gross.

This is not a theatre but a stage with some folding chairs but for an acoustic show the acoustics were fantastic. Or maybe it was just because Justin Furstenberg was so great. Who knows? The show was great

Have enjoyed every show I have gone to here, which is more than I can count. Nice venue for the size, really enjoy that there are 3 different sections that you can "go down/up" in..makes for some fun looking up into the lasers or getting front row! There is no seating, but who needs to sit when you can dance! Thoroughly enjoy going to this venue.

I have to say for my very first time to the Aggie ...

I have to say for my very first time to the Aggie I expected much, much more. Especially considering a good friend of mine was performing. I arrived at the Aggie last Saturday for the NoCo hip hop event they were hosting. Before I even stepped food inside the venue I was given attitude from the women security guard at the front because I was waiting for a ticket from my friend. A simple Ms. we can t have you standing here would have been suffice, but that wasn t the case. Then, we were invited to the basement by said friend and were given a hard time about that because of the amount of people. Which, I understand, but they decided to let us in. If I would have known what it was going to cost us the rest of the night I wouldn t have gone down. As the concert started I was standing near the stage just like everyone else when I was told I needed to step back against the wall. For what reason, I have no idea! I felt like a child being told to stand by the wall. Then, one of my friends started to dance to the music and happened to pass the line that separates general audience from VIP (if you want to call it that), and was pulled aside by a different security guard, told she couldn t be going back and forth which she wasn t and continued to be scolded by this security guard and watched all night long. She was able to come back to the area, but there we were the rest of the night standing against a wall like some kids in time out. What was supposed to be a fun night, ruined. So disappointed with the staff at the Aggie. The only person who even smiled and was friendly was the bartender on the south side. I m not sure what kind of traffic you guys pull in, but I can guarantee you out of the crowd you had that night, we were not the problem. First and last time at the Aggie.

Great venue, good variety of musicians and acts that play here. It's all standing room only and can get super toasty, so plan to wear layers. The bar is small, so plan to stand in line for a bit for most shows. The stage is easily visible from the bar, though, so you won't miss much. Highly recommend catching a show here if you're in Northern Colorado!
