Affordable Computers Review

My computer was making a high pitched whine I thought was caused by the motherboard or power supply. The boys at Affordable Computers helped me reproduce the problem, advised me it was probably just the video card, and then didn't charge me a dime. I replaced the video card and now my pc is working perfectly. Many shops would have charged $50-$100 for diagnostic work. I know who is getting all my pc business from now on. Do yourself a favor and check them out.

You don't need to go anywhere else to get your computer or to get it fixed! These guys are great. They are fair and do a wonderful job. They are not on commission so they only fix what needs to be fixed and are only going to steer you towards a computer that meets your usage needs - nothing more. Since I found them, I have not gone anywhere else.

My laptop had, what looked to me like major brain-bender problems. Thanks to the courteous and patient staff, it's like new again!

I am so happily impressed with Affordable Computers! And I have a fairly high standard! The staff was courteous and the shop was neat. The service was prompt and very efficient. They are knowledgeable and honest with their estimate, evaluation, diagnosis, and repairs. They kept me informed of what was happening along the way and gave me choices that made sense.
I definitely recommend this shop for repairs! Today, I took my laptop in suspecting that my hard drive had failed or was failing. The estimate was given and I was told I would have a call back about midday. I got the call and it was good news and more good news!

Honest people won t rip you off and just tells you what you need and nothing more, knows how to run a business.

Wish I could rate them 10+ stars. Lost capability of accessing my HDD raid 0 drive content. At the check-in counter, Charlie immediately took about 20 minutes to troubleshoot through some errors and eventually reconfigure settings to regain access. Their service cannot be topped. In and out. Way less than an hour. Minimal fee. Fixed computer in hand. WOW!!!

Good for the purchase of my computer and bad for after service service, they aren't truthfull. Well the story starts back at the end of last year. My Korean lap top computer with a camera and windows 7. Well Windows 7 stopped supporting its self so I had to up grade to windows 10. So in wanting to keep the business on the neighbor hood, I asked Mappy where the nearest computer shop was. Got it and went there. They told me my computer would not handle windows 10 and that I would have get a bigger one. Well I did not have the money, but they had a really good deal on a new Dell that would more than handle W-10. But, they would not let me do a deposit or use lay away, explaining they were only going to be sold only on a cash and carry. Just for kicks and giggles I asked if when I bought my new computer they could clean out my old computer and enable it with Skype which was already in stalled in it. I was told no problem, no cost. Well along come March first had the money. to cash out my new computer. My greeting there was that the last one had just been taken. Well disappointed but still eager to get on with buying a new computer, we negotiated and settled on a used really big Dell that would take W-10, but did not have a camera. There were new employees there. When I presented my old Korean computer to get my skype working I was told, no problem, that would cost $126. Well so much for that promise. The new people must have been new owners, so very disappointed, I packed up my Old and new computer. Oh, I bought a 25 cable to hook up my new computer to Jeff's smart TV, $26 worth.

Last month my power cable for the new computer broke. I took it back to see if I could get a new one on under the guarantee. They replaced it, but seeming begrudgingly. I made an inquiry as to what it would cost to get Skype going on my old computer and they stood with their expensive fix. I was not happy, I told them they were not honest and that. I would never come back.

I did not get to use my smart TV cable till last month, to show my family where I had been in the world on Google Earth, big style.

Well I found my computer with the smart tv cable pulled out this morning. Looking closer\ the connector sheath was still in my computer and I was looking at the cable wire tip contacts. I had to go by the shop on other errands, so I took the cable to the computer shop, showed them the cable and told them what happened. They asked for my name to verify the purchase. The guy whispered to a white guy employee, that guy looked at the computer, raised his head to me and very politely said, sir you are going to have to leave the shop, NOW. I could not believe my ears so asked, Pardon me. He repeated and began giving me the shoe shoe hand signs. Geez, it suddenly turned into a situation like I was a guy with a bomb. So I left. But not before asking each person in there if they were proud of them selves. Then called them a bag of rats, and graciously vacated the premises. That s all.

Spencer and Kyle are awesome. They have worked on our computers for home and for work. Always informative, upfront pricing, no surprises on costs, labor etc. Affordable for sure and they have saved me several times and stood behind their work when a tweak was needed.

Thought I needed to replace a hard drive in a laptop, but it was fixed in 2 minutes at no cost. Will go here for any and all PC needs from now on.

If you need help with computer problems you can get friendly and accurate as well as understandable help. Learning that a difficulty I encountered while on the internet was not a computer problem. The web browser I use is no longer supported and a significant number of web sites will not interact with Internet Explorer. Nice to learn something without being made to feel dumb. They are very busy but it is worth the wait due to temporary staffing shortages. Thank you Daniel.

I've gone to Affordable Computers three times over the last several years. I've purchased a computer, had a laptop screen repaired and had my desktop repaired. Highly recommend their service. They are friendly, helpful, affordable and fast.

I have been a customer of AC for many years and I have always had a good experience with their products and service. I would appreciate it the store on Hwy 58 would reopen. Kyle Bales would be a great store manager and is wonderful with his customers.

Affordable Computers is where I will always go for my PC needs from now on. My SSD went bad and I decided I needed a new GPU. They hooked me up with a new SSD and GPU and I was out the door excited to use my new PC. I would definitely recommend you take your computers here. You can't beat the quality and price :D

Very disappointed. We took our computer there a few years back and the they were very helpful and polite. However, we recently needed it look at again and the associate had a fit because he saw a dead bug in the computer he refused to help us.
So sad that one person can bring such bad customer service.
We did find someone else to fix it.
Hope that was a temporary helper.

Two stars because the staff is actually incredibly friendly and tries to be helpful however I bought a $400 PC there that I used successfully one time but it cannot be used now because of a bad power supply out of warranty. I bought this computer less than 1 year ago and has only been used one time for TurboTax and now it's a brick.

Kyle and Spencer helped me fix my computer. Both very knowledgeable, quick, and extremely friendly and welcoming. Definitely ask for them if you have any computer trouble!

If you need a computer repaired or need a custom computer built, this is the best place in Northwest Ga. Great prices and the expertise of the staff is very impressive. There is a man that works there named Spencer Kennedy, if he's there you are in the best hands.

I went to Best Buy because my computer had died on me and would not power up, I felt like it was either my battery or power cord that had not been working. Best Buy told me that they could run a $70 diagnostics test on it, then still charge me whatever it takes to fix. Went to Affordable Computers, within seconds they knew what was wrong got a new part fixed the problem, and they don't even charge to figure out what is wrong with the computer.

The guys at Affordable Computers are nothing short of miracle workers. I had a complete meltdown of my computer and they had my computer repaired within a week while they fixed me up with an inexpensive refurbished model loaded with my files almost immediately--all this for less than the original price of my broken laptop. It is hard to find fast service coupled with honesty and a fair price--but this place has all three. Don't waste your time at a big-box store or on the phone with a foreign tech support agent when Affordable Computers has the best service around.

Horrendous customer service, their staffs ease to frustration lead only to complicate my situation further and ruin my state of mind for several hours. I think the vast majority of the reviews on here may very well be fake...be warned..if you ever dare tread into this establishment..do so carefully for the staff have an unforgiving nature to questions, concerns and confusions that feels..quite terrible to experience. I fear going back...for coming in contact with the same staff that i feel..mistreated me...but i have to return and or swap out the items...i hope to keep this interaction brief for fear of what more they'll do.

I just relocated my business from So Cal to Chattanooga. So, running into computers issues in a new land can be nerve rattling. What a relief to find this company. Great service! Very knowledgeable and excellent assistance. Willing to help you without pricing you to death. My daughter went in with a simple question because her internet didn't work. Went to them to have my computer swiped they charge me about $100 to clean out my computer because my screen keep turning black .. the gentleman who work there told me that after they cleaned out the computer I would have to update my windows because they did not do it after updating my windows to Window 8 my computer has been running slow and freezing up today I went to them to see exactly what the problem is and how much more of my money there were going to get I felt like the service is not good at all and all they do is minor problems to get you to come back again and again I would highly not recommend them to work on your computer laptop desktop printer anything they can get their hands on the guy was being a smart-ass when I was asked him about the problem and he told me that I had a lot of junk on my computer but my windows did not even open for him to see anything so how can he make an assumption that I had a lot of junk on my computer I don't know about the rest of the locations but I would not go there again and I advise you to not use them for your computer repair needs .......some people just don't like this and get over other people just because they know a little more about something then you

Terrible experience!!!! Gave my laptop a problem it didn't have when I took it in and said there was nothing they could do about it! As I was leaving with my damaged laptop the manager laughingly stated "Let us know if there is anything else we can do for you.'' Don't trust this place!!!!

I came here cause my power supply went bad. I was told that my motherboard was burnt out and it was not booting up. I got a second opinion, I found out they lied to me the only problem was the power supply. I used to go here for everything trusting them. They no longer have my trust as I dont deal with theives.

I called to inquire about upgrading my Toshiba laptop and I was told that it could not be fixed due to the age. I was also, told that due to the age of the computer, the hardware and software were not compatible to the newer laptops today. I was then told to go out and buy another one because of the cost would be cheaper.
I called another computer repair store in East Ridge, needless to say, I took it there. I am so happy that I did. This Business not only fixed the software issues but made it faster, fixed the camera and audio issues. All this was done for less than 120 dollars and done in 1 day.

I built my first computer yesterday. Everything would turn on but when I connected the PC to the monitor I would get a no signal sign on the monitor. So I took my computer to Affordable Computers on Hwy 58. To be honest, I was expecting a $60 fee just for them laying their eyes on my equipment (you know that is the case with most other shops). But not with Affordable Computers, it took the men that work there seconds to find the problem (I did not have one of the 8 pin connections in correctly). After that he made sure all the connections were in correctly and showed me how to properly manage my cables within the tower for better airflow (all of which was of no charge). I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND you go to this store, the people who work there are extremely nice and will fix any problem you have. Also if you are looking to buy a laptop they have those as well. I am recommending this store to all my friends and family.

P.S. I am writing this review on my newly built PC which would not be possible without the helpfulness of this great store.

Excellent ,Friendly & Knowledgeable customer service. Quick also as I had just gotten my computer back after 2 days from Office Depot because they were not able to retrieve files from my dying hard-drive. I came in to Afforable Computers at 10 am and was out the door in 30 minutes as the tech took the laptop apart to access the hard-drive and started retrieving all my files. Did I mention they were 33% cheaper than Office Depot for what should have been the same task. I highly recommend especially to my senior citizen peers as I am not computer literate but still felt comfortable speaking to the tech. Wish I had ask his name so I could edify him also in this post. This store is awesome! They have all the parts you need and have very speedy service with really fair pricing. The technicians are very knowledgeable and friendly and the store is well kept and stocked up.

Well here goes. Took my computer to Geek Squad Best But HWY 153 Chattanooga, TN. on March 4, 2013, still have not gotten computer back from Seek Squad. They try to seek out other problems and do not fix your problem. Called the geeks about my computer and the said that the hard drive was no good and they would not be able to fix it themselves. Said they could not get the hard drive to start up so they could download saved files to another drive before loading back my Windows software. Said they could send off my hard drive to some other company to get info off hard drive and the cost would start at $250.00 and could go as high as $1,200.00 or more. I said no I will just come and pick up the hard drive and then they could finish fixing my computer. Had two hard drives in computer.

So looked in phone book and found Affordable Computers on HWY 58 Chattanooga, TN. and talked with Charlie. He said to bring in the hard drive and he would see what he could do. Well it only took 15 minutes and Charlie had the hard drive up and running, and WOW there were all my files. The cost was less than the Original cost Meek Squad was charging to fix my computer. Thanks Charlie. Everyone was so professional at Affordable Computers and full of knowledge. They now have a new client.

I was in need of a new computer and was going to purchase it from Best Buy from their web site. They did not have what I needed in the store. Instead I let Charlie build me a custom computer and once again the job was done on time, and everything went smoothly.

I completely recommend these guys at Affordable Computers and you should use them also.

Up date from Week Squad. They still have not finished my computer as of today March 18, 2013. I have called several times with all sorts of answers, and told will be ready the next day. Newest is they do not think my computer is worth saving, but they will try to save the computer. By the way at the same time took my parents computer for Peek Squad to just do a simple system / hard drive clean up, and have not gotten their computer back yet either. Once again not sure if they can fix parents computer either. My computer was a little over ten years old a Sony, but my parents computer will only be two years old April 4th of this year. Guess what it was purchased at Best Buy with the added protection to cover it for two years from Beek Squad.

Good people very helpful they build computers very well

I have been using Affordable Computers since I found them in 2012, they have exceeded my expectations every time I have deal with them. This has included equipment updates, installing SSD drives in three computers, trouble shooting, advise on apps a programs, purchase a laptop for a family member and most recently a service call to my home office to address a number of issues and improvements to our computer system. I cannot give a higher recommendation to anyone who needs any assistance, repairs or service for their personal or business computers!

Friendly, knowledgeable staff were able to fix my PC frustration at an extremely reasonable price. Would highly recommend.

Kyle, manager, and Dan, employee, were super helpful. I wish I had known about Affordable before I took my Surface Pro to CPR on Gunbarrel (they are absolutely pathetic).Kyle was very honest, and he went above and beyond to help me and only charged me for the flash drive that was used to download my computer's contents. I highly recommend Affordable Computers as they are honest, fair, and super helpful. Kyle and Dan, although they couldn't completely solve the issue, didn't gig me into a fix that they couldn't do. For those guys, five stars!

This is the third system that I have purchased from Affordable. This last one was for my new office for my company. All I can say is that these guys are amazing. The service "AFTER" the sale was as good as the service during. Their service went way beyond what was required to make sure I was all set. There is zero chance I will ever buy a computer from any place else.
