My kids have been part of advantage academy for several years, as family we have been blessed to meet some teachers that really care for the students. We are so grateful with God for letting us meet Mrs. Williams ( The principal at ND) she has demonstrated how important the education and care is for the kids and how important is for parents to get involved in their lives!!! We pray God to give wisdom to the people in charge to hire the teachers and to assigned the personnel that work at the campuses for the good of the students!!! God bless you all.

Everything I have to say cannot be put into this small box. If I can rate this school a zero, I will. During a training they made us write a good review for the school since they were lacking them.

First of all, the administrators on the GPW campus are amazing. I had the pleasure of working as an Attendance Clerk and due to reorganization, I became Registrar/Attendance Clerk. ( no extra pay) I got the training I needed from the PEIMS Coordinator but when it came to SchoolMint, I never receive the training that I was supposed to receive. The one time the customer service manager trained" me was for one hour and she was texting and talking about her personal life instead. She had no intentioned on training me. She wanted to sabotage me and succeed.
The turnover rate is extremely high. 5 people started out working in the front office in the beginning of the school year. 1 got promoted and the other 4 are no longer working there. Most teachers and staff are not returning next year due to micromanaging, last minute changes and lack of support. EVERYONE IS STRESSED OUT BECAUSE THEY ARE UNSURE OF THEIR JOB SECURITY. The longest person that is employed at GPW is has been year for only 4 years.
When the enrollment specialist got promoted, they didn t consider that it was only one other person working in the front office and had to take on other roles such as office manager, Attendance Clerk/ Registrar, and Administrative Assistant and I did it well. They did not have the resources for someone to be successful. Most days I would be alone in the front office. The Central staff will not get the intercoms (which is a serious safety hazard), but they want to constantly look at the cameras to see where you are located on campus. This school will lie to parents about the resources they have just to get their numbers up so they can get more funding. They adjust the attendance percentages to the start in order to stay in business.
If you do decide to work here. BEWARE. The central staff is super sneaky, and the customer service manager and enrollment specialist will throw you under the bus just to cover themselves. (Everyone knows this, but no one is doing anything about it)
Overall, I did enjoy my job, because of the kids and some of my coworkers, but I will never send my kids here nor will I ever recommend this school to anyone. Advantage Academy really lives up to its name. THEY WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU AND THROW YOU IN THE TRASH. THIS IS NOT A SCHOOL, IT IS A BUSINES.S In my honest opinion this business should not even be open. DON T WASTE YOUR TIME IN WORKING OR SENDING YOUR CHILDREN HERE. YOU WILL BE ON INDEED LOOKING FOR ANOTHER JOB OR ANOTHER SCHOOL.

Worst school experience ever. Didn't even get a certificate for my 8th grade graduation. Actually didn't even get an actual graduation. Our "award ceremony" was in the cafeteria while everyone was having lunch. The school has no discipline. Most of the teachers either quit or get fired for illogical reasons. When in sports. The coach wasn't even there half of the time. She was to busy teaching tennis for a different school. Instead of the teachers teaching, we did some childish program on the computer that didn't teach anything. The point is. The school is not worth anyone's time.

My boys have been attending for 3yrs and they love it. My boys will be returning for the 2020-2021 school year. Mrs. Chavez is always willing to help in any way possible. The office staff and teachers are great!

It's alright I guess. It's not all that. The school has some good teachers, not a lot of activities. Choir, volleyball, track, basketball, and soccer. It's alright I geuss.

this school is awful, i am a student there. They have no AP classes and barely any extra curricular activities.

This is such a great school! The staff really cares about their students and everyone I have interacted with about my child has always been professional. I think they have gone through staff changes since all the negative reviews. It really is great. The first school my child has felt safe in. And I feel safe sending him there.

This school cares about their students AND families. The campus is beautiful, and it feels very positive when you come in. I love the assistant principal, she is so professional and friendly. This is a great school!

I'm not sure about the other campuses however the Duncanville campus is horrible. I would never recommend this school to anyone for their children. There is no organization last-minute notification on activities in school work. My child was in the third grade and I was not told the whole school year that she had several teachers throughout the school year. And the principal is definitely not up to par when she cannot keep her hands to herself. If I could have gave this a zero rating that's what I would have given it but one star would suffice. Do not waste your time energy or money in that school district.

As a Parent I must say this school is very unorganized! Avoid if possible!!! They have a game they play with the parents it's called, "Pass the Buck" Whenever you have an issue or a question they transfer you to 15 different people. Then once you do get the supposedly right person nobody has a concrete answer for any questions! I don't even think they deserve 1 star but 0 isn't an option. Just an FYI Advantage Academy things just don't get organized by chance it takes effort and hard work to be organized. You should have learned this before opening a school. My daughter is in Honors for Gifted and Talented this group only met 2 times last year. At our previous school they met with them over 100 times and had over 7 educational field trips. If you want you kid to become less educated and pounded with district tests and stresses over and over again this is the perfect school for you. Horrible experience! The only good thing this school has going is new buildings that s it. Grand Prairie Campuses!

Advantage Academy is the worst school anyone can go to. Here's why, they hire teachers who aren't very good at their job. The teachers yell at you thinking it's the best way to discipline the class, most of the girl's sweet talk our discipline administrator and get to go back to class... without punishment! They also have terrible teaching techniques; our social studies teacher only gave us packets, PACKETS! He didn't even get up and teach the class, and just gives us tests, expecting us to know the answers. They care about our shirts being tucked in more than our education, and we went through 5 teachers in ONE semester because they either got fired or they quit. This school is not worth your time. There are PLENTY of other schools where you can have fun while learning at the same time.

No ma am, never sending my child here. As a student I hate this school. Today the SDA grabbed a child by their arms and body slammed them in the middle of lunch because the kid bumped into them. NO THANK YOU. 0/10 school.

Parents BEWARE! All of the good reviews came from the District office and the reviews are fake! This school is horrible. The district does not provide teachers adequate supplies in order to teach the students. So many students are leaving the school that now they are turning it into an alternative school because the school is that bad off. The students aren't bad, the teachers aren't bad; IT IS THE DISTRICT/CENTRAL OFFICE STAFF THAT IS HORRIBLE! There is no principal, however there is a lady who walks around giving students Saturday school for chewing gum and a new assistant principal who is so confused. There is no proper ESL program either and the SPED program is very limited. There are students in classrooms who receive no ESL service and can not speak any English. The school is literally ran by people who are simply money hungry and not interested in the advancements of your children. There are not many campus alternative activities such as a real high school. Run run run as fast as you can!

I just graduated from here in May and the school is absolutely horrible! They are not fair racially and are totally unorganized. Teachers up here are highly inappropriate with students (I've been in a situation like that several times while attending). Teachers here have no real meaning of what being a teacher means. They have insufficient funds and WOULDN'T even give us a prom. They told us that since we wanted to have it a nice location outside of the school cafeteria they were not going to pay for it. My Senior class and I raised thousands of dollars to have a prom. The administrators up here steal money and made it to where nobody could get Letterman jackets anymore. They also stole from the cheer team. As a student who went there and saw first hand how they are, I advise you DO NOT place your kids a school like this. Your kids will come out uneducated unless they have good common sense and great home training. Just because "teens" are commenting doesn't mean that we don't know what's going on. We've seen first hand how they mess up transcripts and important papers for student's futures.

My kids have been going to Advantage Academy going 5 + year now. I feel like every school is not perfect and is easy to judge from the outside. Me as a parent I always try to get involve and volunteer for any activities. The school over all does offer many activities for the kids but is up to us as parents to be involve to. The teachers are regular people and with everything that is been going on is and eye opener of how hard is to teach. Whenever I had any concern I have always been able to get someone to resolve any issues. I like that the school is small compare to others and for that they actually get to know you and your family. My kids enjoy coming to school and they love the staff.

This is a great school and having my kids here is one of the best things my wife and I have done. PLEASE NOTICE: "All bad reviews you see about this school have something in common: They are all written by the teenagers that go there. As a parent, you know that at their age they do not know what is best for them and all they like to do is complain". Enough said!
