South Anchorage Surgery Center, LLC- this center is great. They are competitive price with everyone else. Quality of doctors is better. And the support is all about the client. And getting them to a better place of health and achieve a higher quality of life. Because of this facility I am able to have a good quality of life, not one of sitting home in pain. After many surgeries Dr. Stinson has been able to keep me pain free without taking medication daily. He has diagnosed many issues that I have spent years with other doctors that have no clue.

Ever since the office went to 1 Dr. the quality of care has significantly went down hill quick. You can't even see the Dr. unless you see the PA and he might step in. I've been going to this clinic for a very long time and loved it until now.

I ve always given five very enthusiastic stars for Dr. Stinson and his nursing team, especially Tim and Hope. However, in my most recent experience, none of those people were there, and the quality of care was lessened. There were relaxed standards for the procedure room where sterile
technique is supposed to be used and no oxygen support during the procedure which always made me feel a little safer. The warm blankets always helped with my anxiety over procedures, and those weren t available either.

Everyone was kind and the procedure went fine, so the above changes have more to do with comfort than anything else, but the comfort measures make a difficult experience a little easier for me. So, fewer stars. I ll still seek care here; it s just more uncomfortable and higher-anxiety for me now.

I wish I could give zero stars. I was referred to this office by my ins. the day after they got my referral they denied me as a pt because I want to find other ways of managing my pain than meds once I can get off of them. I still need to see a pain management office to help me ween of meds and help with pain management. my previous office only gave pills and wouldn't let me seek other forms of pain management because they won't get paid. The fact of the matter is I need a pain management dr to let me know if the course I am seeking will help my pain or not and prescribe it as a treatment but no one will because they make too much injecting poison into your bodies or giving you an RX that was made in a lab from chemicals. I am sick to death of no one actually caring how to help me get better and only caring about how much money they will get seeing me. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND this office.

I have been seeing Doctor Stinson and his staff at Advanced Pain Centers of Alaska for the last 12 years, and consider him a lifesaver! Too many surgeons don't refer patients to a pain management specialist when they feel there is nothing more they can do surgically, leaving people struggling with chronic pain.

I shattered L2 in an accident (which by all rights should have left me paralyzed) and had to have L1-L3 fused. Surgery revealed I had osteoporosis in my spine, and my vertebrae didn't hold the screws properly. A significant curve developed, which has progressively compressed the disks below the fusion. Through years of different types of injections, the eventual addition of a spinal cord stimulator, the judicious use of pain meds - and just plain personal attention - Dr. Stinson has helped me retain a much higher activity level than surgery or PT alone would have left me with.

What I value just as much is being treated as an individual. Everyone in the office, from Dr. Stinson to the front receptionist, have consistently been friendly, welcoming and respectful. I have recommended him many times to people struggling with chronic pain, who are unaware of life-enhancing pain management options.

In all fairness, I should add that I have been deeply fortunate to have excellent health insurance. And that too has made a huge difference. I don't know where I'd be if I had to pay out of pocket for the great care I have received.

Dr Brown writes a lot down but doesnt help with the pain. Waste of money seeing him

Amazing staff! I've been a patient for several years and have always been grateful that they understand that it's not just about pain relief, but getting back to an active lifestyle! (I can pick my kids up again!) I also appreciate that their proactive approach to pain management differs from other practices. They are not pill pushers, and Dr. Stinson is known in medical circles for his stance against opioid dependance. I can't say enough, but you are in good hands with this group!

After dealing with lower back pain for 7 years and trying everything available in the Chiropractic sector, I was referred to this clinic by my physical therapist. Dr Sola Olamikan and his team are wonderful! He provided me a level of education on the how and why of my issues, and offered different levels of treatment and procedures. He has such a warm and upbeat personality that completely melts your stress and anxiety away. I m so lucky to have finally found a doctor who cares about my outcome. Looking forward to relieving this chronic pain!

This entire place is a scam , only one "doctor" that sounds like he knows what's going on but in reality he's just good at talking and a person you won't ever get to see but once , the rest of the doctors "retired" all of a sudden . This place has a revolving door staff that also says alot about the place . They push unnecessary medicine, shots/injections that do absolutely nothing but drain your wallet .

"Oh you're in pain here's some pain pills and I recommend some shots /injections . We will do this for about 3 or 4 years until you catch on and then we'll pretend like everything is great as we get rid of you ."

I wouldn't trust any review over one star .

Dr. Stinson was super helpful to me when I needed a second opinion about my current medications. He was forthright, honest and paid meticulous attention to detail. I was very appreciative! Now, my son is having some terrible problems with scoliosis. There's been a mixup in some paperwork but today we discovered the problem, so my son will be able to see Dr. Stinson very soon. I'm sure he will be able to help my son figure out the best way to handle this on-going, never-ending pain that comes with scoliosis.

Some of the surgeons and doctors we've seen over the last six years, from Alaska to Texas to New York and then back to Alaska, have believed that patients all fall within the exact same parameters or guidelines for scoliosis pain, but that's ridiculous! Those are GUIDELINES, they are NOT specific to individual patients! Human beings are not all the same - not structurally, not biologically, not in anyway except that we are all humans! We feel pain differently, we feel love differently - even if the disease is the same, and even if the object of our affections is the same -- WE are DIFFERENT!

Dr. Stinson knows this, and he treats people as individuals - not "people with scoliosis don't hurt with just that little bit of curvature." One doctor actually said that! We just walked out. One man's 10 degrees is another man's 20 degrees when it comes to how it affects them! Each person reacts differently, each responds differently and that variance cannot truly be measured; it depends on a good physician to ferret out those differences and get to the ONE patient's needs so he can best help. Dr. Stinson does that, and he does it very, very well.
