Do NOT stay in any of the accommodation!
Unfortunately this business has recently changed hands and gone downhill at a rapid rate!
I stayed in a donga with my parents as they don't enjoy camping anymore. For $260 a night we got a filthy donga with two bunk beds and bedding for two people no pillows and a broken curtain.
Nothing at all worked in the camp "kitchen" provided for the eight donga rooms.
The cleaners had left town as it was pay day and the only remaining staff (still approximately 15) were drinking all night constantly swearing and arguing with the occasional fight!
The next day the park started to fill up, when the neighbours checked in to there Donga room there was no bedding at all. After hassling them all day they eventually admitted they didn't have any more bedding so they upgraded them to the empty cabin's (which we tried to book) with an ensuite but none of them had any hot water!
The one and only toilet/shower block was disgustingly filthy with no toilet paper but we found plenty in the janitor's cupboard.
The bins throughout the site were overflowing and stunk.
The camp sites seemed okay but have no facilities, we did our dishes in the toilet sinks.
It's unfortunate but the sooner this business changes hands or gets a experienced manager the better, hopefully before it falls into disrepair!
The nearby Camp ground at the national park was much nicer with better facilities and much cheaper.
It was sad to see a tour bus leave moments after checking in as the rooms were so bad, the guide said they have been using Adels Grove for 15 year's but has cancelled all further business dealings and now drives to
the nearest town over 200kms!
If this park had the price adjusted accordingly you could look past many of these things but at the current price it's highway robbery!
Admittedly they did give everyone free use of there two person canoes but you wouldn't want to pay much as they all leak!
Very disappointed with our recent stay. We visited Adeles about 6 years ago and it was a green oasis. Still a few trees but very dusty and in need of maintenance and basic cleaning. Ablutions were supplied with toilet paper but that's about it. No soap and not being cleaned enough. No tours running. The girls at reception were very pleasant but couldn't really help with anything. We'd booked an afternoon cruise and dinner (some time ago) apparently we needed tickets. They were going to deliver them to us. No tickets and no tour. Lawn Hill National Park is certainly worth a visit, but next time we'll stay at the National Park.
The best place in Oz.. been there 5 times..The hosts Rod and Michael well what can I say..They have done an amazing job with wonderful place. Hopefully jen and I (Annie) can get back there when its not too busy
..
Beautiful campground with great facilities. Plenty of shade, great spot for swimming and a nice restaurant/bar.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. I chose to stay in a cabin as I didn't have any camping gear with me but all options are pretty nice at Adels. Friends chose to camp by the water.
Well maintained sites. Would highly recommend this place for a nice weekend away.
We booked one night in a Queen ensuite cabin and Mackenzee was outstanding through the entire booking experience. The phones were down and she did everything through email and text.
We only stayed one night, but facilities were great and looked awesome for anyone with a caravan or tent travelling for weeks.
Awesome facilities and fuel available.
We went to Lawn Hill National Park for the day and was the most beautiful place I ve seen in Australia.
Extremely disappointed in Adels Grove. Honestly of i knew what was there I would have camped at Lawn hill.
Paid $210 per night and when we arrived they said they had cancelled.our booking. But we did not receive an email at all. They said they found us somewhere to stay. Not .kidding the room is the dirtiest I've ever stayed at and we camp Alot. This was supposed to be our luxury anniversary week away. I so wish we had camped.
The only reason I give it 2 stars is the bed was comfortable, and the air con worked (mostly).
If your happy to pay resort fees for just above camping then this is the place for you. If your happy camping best thing to do is go to lawn hill and save yourself 170 bucks per night.
They did not have the services they said on their website. No shop, no cafe, take away, no restaurant, no bar, not 1/2 the stuff in the kitchen they said.
Also so lucky we brought all.our own food because if we had planned to eat in the restaurant we would have been very hungry for 4 days.
Lawn hill.itself, stunning. GO THERE
Stunning.... we camped one night in the grove, lovely, now we have a beautiful ensuite cabin, staff very helpful, free canoe hire, free boat cruise on the lower gorge ( donation) , lovely bistro meal. Late May 21
Currently this place is being renovated...however, if your able to live off grid in your caravan or camper, then you have one magnificent camping area. Enjoy
