I haven't used Pauls service for 9 years now but did so in 2003 and also 2009 and would like to squash the negative reviews left on this site. I have had the most professional service from this company and so have 2 other separate persons that I recommended and they too have NOT complained. This company looks at all the hidden mistakes that us people would not even consider. Matt
Overpriced because of disorganisation Disorganisation = longer hours = higher bill If I tell him any concerns, his answer would be that he is better than others :(
LOOK ELSEWHERE. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. OVER PRICED, UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE. If I could give them zero stars, I would. 1 star is too high. Amazing that the similarities between my recent experience and a review here on Google are nearly identical !!! I honestly felt like I was reading my own experience. I requested an estimate for their services (verbal), written costing was received only at my request. The costing sheet was very unprofessional, hand written scribble all over and difficult to decipher. When asked for confirmation the price was basically double the verbal estimate. I instructed them not to proceed (via email), confirmation was received back "we can t do anything till we receive the signed Authorisations back from you" . No signed authorisations were EVER sent back to them. I contacted another business whom priced me at the original verbal quote from Stonnington so I immediately informed Stonnington I would not be requiring their services. Like the other review - BOOM - an invoice for $405 was sent to me for "ALL" the work they had already done and claimed they have done 1.5 - 2 hours already plus searches. Although I disputed that any work should have commenced without signed authority, they then sent demand notices, threatened legal action and debt collectors. In addition to aggressive emails stating "to just pay the account and we can all go our separate ways" when the invoice was queried. The MOST unprofessional and rude organisation I have ever dealt with.
My contract cost around double the cost estimate and took twice as long as I was told to expect. At no point was I given an update on the estimated completion time even though Paul was aware I had a potential vendor waiting to see the contract prior to making an offer. It took a month and three days to deliver the contract by which time the potential vendor had put in an offer on another property. I was told it would take 2 - 2.5 weeks to complete. I believe the delay was due to poor time management. It took Paul 10 working days to contact my accountant to get information that was vital to complete the contract. He then blamed the delay in completing the contract on the accountant for not providing him with the information. When I pointed out his delay in contacting them, he told me to 'back off"!! (Seriously, I have the email) On another occasion he emailed me requesting information I had already provided a week earlier and on every phone call would detail at length how busy he was and how late he had to stay at the office. These phone calls I was charged for. It seems he has taken on too much work to complete in a timely manner. After shopping around for a new conveyancer I now know Stonnington Conveyancing have a reputation as being expensive. My contract cost me $1780. The bill was delivered very promptly and I was contacted on the due date to remind me to pay up. Paul seemed to see no conflict in his demand for punctual payment when he had delivered my contract so late, with no apology or explanation, just deflecting the blame unfairly to my accountant. I believe this delay cost me a potential offer.
*** Arrogant & Unwilling to listen to Customer's needs *** Have had dealings with Paul and his team for the past 8 years for buying and selling. I'm a seasoned investor trading over 5 properties locally and internationally. Been a good experience with Paul's team until last week. Forwarded the S32 to Paul to get back to me with options, Never got a response for 3 business days. I called back 3 days after no response, Paul wasn't in this time and left a message with Garvin and said I would get a call back. on the 4th business day, BOOM! A full on report / assessment of some sort with the $440 bill attached on the 2nd page of the report. What ever happened to calling back and asking what the customer want before commencing work? Too arrogant to admit their error and obvious disorganisation, they persisted on charging me for their error PLUS threatened to send out their Debt Collection hound dog. This is the treatment I get after being a loyal customer for 8 long years. Should have taken my business elsewhere when Paul and his team constantly defend their delays and blame my Account, property manager, agent and premium banker whenever we have any dealings.
