They don't allow you to return tools for different ones, this place sucks

They were great! I needed a duplicate key made and i was in and out! Really friendly and answered my questions. Just straight and to the point.

They have "everything" here, especially hard to find hardware.

Friendly + helpful staff and had everything I needed.

The staff is almost always excessively cheerful and it's always helpful (a good thing because I have two left thumbs).

Staff is outstanding and knowledgeable...selection is great, particularly for its location, though it's not nearly as big as South Loop Home Depot.

They don't have everything Home Depot does but what they lack in selection they make up for in convenience and service. This location really does have helpful hardware folks.

Large hardware store with good stock of items, and you can always find someone to help you, unlike some big-box stores we could name. Recommended.

Owners are hard ass bigots who have no care for their employees and only see them as numbers. "Family Own Small Business Mentality" doesn't exist here.

If they don't have it on hand they will order it for you

Helpful not much to say it's an ace hardware. Good option to have in the city, located downstairs, makes keys

Overpriced, and their return policy is absurd! The employees don't know what they're talking about, they look like they're fresh out of highschool. Avoid this Ace if you can.

This is a great little hardware store.

We were immediately greeted by an employee upon entry and were asked if we needed any assistance. It saved us time because the employee took us where we needed to go within the store.

Needed some items that turned out quite hard to carry. Asked and was helped to attach some special carrying wrapping. Nice and well stocked store.

They had 99.99% of what i needed. Was surprised to say the least. Not a whole lot in there but they got a little bit of everything.

A good store, although some staff are not very customer friendly.

Needed a repair kit for my toilet. Walked in, told the salesperson what I needed and brought me to exactly where it was. Walked to the cashier and paid for my purchase. In and out in less than 5 minutes. Sure beats ordering online and waiting for who knows how long. Personal attention is hard to beat. Have made a number of previous purchases and it is always the same. Highly recommend ACE.

The prices are high and selection is limited. Also a bit dissatisfied with it being in an underground level. No phone signal for contacting contractors if needed. Help is limited. Cashier even forgot to put what I bought in a bag lol

Staff is very helpful here as soon as you walk in they ask you if you need help with anything and assist you to find what you need.

A great neighborhood ACE. They carry just about everything you could need for home DIY, garden, and outdoor city living. Their selection is quite large considering the location in the heart of the city. Ask questions if you have questions and someone will help you! The 4 stars stems from the waiting at check out and a mistake made during check out (which was corrected once addressed).

Would give 0 if I could. Came in yesterday because my car died and I needed something to charge the battery with. Was told by 2 employees that the one I got (which was $70, but in the spot marked $30) didn't have to stay plugged in to charge the battery. I plugged it in for 27 hours then took it downstairs and tried to start my battery, only to find out it did have to be plugged it to work. And since I took it out if the box, they refuse to let me return it. So basically, I got lied to and scammed out of $70.

Kind of a have-everything-store in a convenient location.
