Accor (Novotel & Ibis Auckland Ellerslie) Review

Nice hotel with clean rooms and a good bar/social area..

Good value for money.

Was friendly and any requests acted on promptly. Checkin/Checkout quick and efficient

We like staying here because it is handy to the city and there is a train station close by. The rooms are tidy, the restaurant is good and it is generally family friendly. The only negative on this stay was the lack of car parking due to a number of conferences being held. However the staff seemed genuinely aplologetic, took our vehicle to another park and had it back to us promptly when we checked out. Luckily once they parked it we didn't need it again until we checked out otherwise it would have been more of an inconvenience. They also didn't charge the normal parking fee so did everything to rectify the problem.

A brief stay, comfortable, enjoyable and staff were friendly and helpful.

I was lucky enough to be assigned to this hotel for my Covid-19 isolation.

The Novotel Ibis staff were absolutely amazing (and the Police, NZDF and AvSec people too). They really went the extra mile to make you feel at home and welcome; despite the razor-wire, alsatians and armed guards.

The food was great, parking was plentiful and you also got free lollipops as part of the Covid-19 testing procedure.

10/10 would isolate for 14 days here again ; even if it were my actual dollars rather than my tax dollars paying for it.

Fly in drive out visit, for was fine, it was efficient, five star quality as per any good hotel

Charges for wifi and parking, rooms are alright, clean and tidy but probably wouldn't recommend

Food is average , missing things that were stated on the menu when we received them in our room

As always, a warm welcome awaited us. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Parking was a little challenging, especially on such a miserable night! See you next time.

I had the pleasure of staying here for just one night before flying out the following day. I also had relatives stay at the hotel and all of us were extremely satisfied with our stay. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and both the dinner and breakfast choices were really good. The food looked and tasted good. I'd recommend this place to everyone and would stay again.

Good but too expensive comparing to other hotels that provide the same service. The repair of the save was efficient.

Good just one problem was the noise of young people playing games just above the restaurant. Bad image ....

When the breakfast manager noticed how tired my wife was and she explained she had been at the hospital next door with our daughter all night, he asked if there was anything they could do and said to take some pasteries with us which was nice.

Nice hotel but just not up there. Weird smell in foyer. Cheap parking though

Trying to reach since 2 weeks for my bill stayed for 3 days. but no one responding for my email . every time getting auto generated email .very pathetic service of staff .

Long work days getting in to hotel to terrible room service food that is way over priced was really disappointing. I expected more from a Novotel.

Had the best time here. My mother in laws birthday was also held at the Novotel and the service was exceptional. Very hard to find service where staff had a smile on their faces the whole entire time. You made my mothers night the most special one she would not forget. Thank you for taking care of our family. The hotel was perfect especially with all the children we had with us. Highly recommend.

Can't comment on accommodation as only there for meetings. Very well catered for.

Only went for a brief visit to a conference in progress.

I was booked into Novotel Elleslie in error by my administration staff - the meeting I was going to was at Novotel Airport and that is where I was meant to be staying. Error was realised when I tried to check in at the Airport Hotel. I requested that my booking could be transferred from Elleslie to Airport with any difference in cost paid. There were rooms available in Airport at approx $350 and the room at Elleslie was approx $250. Novotel refused to credit one room for the other and kindly offered for me to pay for both rooms. The result - I stayed at Elleslie, Novotel received $100 less than I was willing to pay, taxi companies received the $100, I wasted my time travelling and was upset and annoyed by the whole experience. As things stand I will actively not be using IBIS/Novotel again and will be sharing my experience with my colleagues.

On a brighter note the Duty Manager at the Airport Hotel, Johnny, was excellent and tried to help as best he could. His customer service skills were outstanding.

Whilst close to the motorway the hotel is almost impossible to reach during Auckland's infamous rush hour. The breakfast served at our conference was extremely poor and the amount of food waste was appalling. To round it off we were slogged for parking charges. Much better venues available for breakfast meetings / conferences.

Loved our stay. Only problem was that our room keys kept de-coding and had to go down to office most days to get them re-programmed.

The room was very comfortable. It's not close to the downtown but in a quiet area, near Cornwall Park. The staff were very helpful and the restaurant was fantastic.

Service was amazing! Rooms are nice and spacious, clean and tidy. Only feedback would be to have an ajustable shower head as I am short this was a little difficult to get he right amount of pressure. Also took me a while to find all the light switches. Otherwise amazing experience. Would defintely stay again.

Amazing Hotel to stay at in Auckland
Great friendly and helpful staff.

The bed was comfortable.
Everything was there.
The televison picture was terrible, unwatchable. Snowy.

Just a one night stay.
Rooms were clean and functional but the one we stayed was very compact - so compact with the large bed taking up nearly the entire lounge.
TV was pretty small and when we tried to use it, we kept getting pay for view channels with no logical way to escape them.
I won't be in a hurry to stay here again.

Being an accor member really counts when you stay here. Free upgrade and half price meals. Comfy bed and a good shower. Handy to the cbd and the motorway.

Very little brunch or lunch selections and the service was well below their old standard.

Good hard to find with the GPS a little removed from the city.

Very good as in the rest of the world. Lack a few heavy weights at the gym. And a music?

It's OK but maybe needs a bit of updating esp the food... Must have more taste, it used to be good but attended 60th party. Salad served lacks some love and flavour.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Novotel. Everyone was friendly, helpful and polite, from the Reception staff to the restaurant staff and the cleaning crew. I was especially impressed with the young Russian waiter who remembered what we'd ordered on previous nights and make recommendations for us. Also the wonderful cleaning staff member who overheard me ask if anyone had thrown out a newspaper and went off especially to find me one. These touches make for a very memorable stay. Thanks.

WE enjoyed our stay. The only part we didn't quite like was that Whilst your invitation on upgrading through email stated that it would cost around $90+ when we checked in we were told it would be $110+ because the Junior suite was booked for 2 nights during our stay and therefore we could have the junior suite but we had to pay an extra $20 to the email offer price. We just feel no good will was shown on your part.

Had a snack at the restaurant excellent salad very good French fries good table service

2.5 stars hotel I believe.
1.Room aircon can only go up to 24 and it is still cold.
2.Poor in Noise control, can hear other people using their toilet and shower and also walking steps from far away. I'm on level 4, facing the park.
3. Bed is way to soft like sleeping on sponge. Toe is higher then head.
4. Poor and old facilities.
5. Smart TV is lifesaver.
6. The later you shower the less hot water you get.

Other then those, welcome to auckland, New Zealand

Nice place. Room service didn't happen till 5.30pm. Can't open rhe window but not bad.

Comfortable rooms that have everything you need for a short stay. Small gym onsite. Lovely, welcoming staff that are very helpful. Prime location for events at Logan Campbell Centre/ASB Showgrounds, walkable distance. You must pay to park your car at the hotel.

Goid hotel and restaurant conveniently located just off the motorway

We enjoyed our stay and the service recieved was supurb. I signed up to be a member and can't wait to stay again. The shower had the best pressure and the bed was so spacious and soft.

Parking can be an issue as the main carpark is 24/7 pay and display owned by Auckland Racing. Previously it was free. Better to park at Ascot carpark after hours

Good location for access ie on and off motor way. Rooms are average. A bit tired. Beds are surprisingly good. Breakfast great. Service good. Would probably stay again.

Friendly staff with great service. I find the choice of dinner menu is very limited. But other things like the rooms and facilities make up for this. Breakfast service is very good.

The hotel is well set out and the room is comfortable. What was most notable however and really made this hotel enjoyable was the friendliness of all of the staff.

Good location, not in CBD, but still the center of Auckland. The bed is too soft, the stretch of bed is gone. Free parking, good service. Will stay again.

The access is insecure. Anyone can use the lifts as they don't need the room card to use. The sound proofing isn't good enough as I can clearly hear people talking at the other room or outside the door.

Regarding the service, I had to call in to confirm my booking as they didn't reply my email.

An excellent four star hotel that does what it does do well. The breakfast quality was very good and so was the variety, the rooms were very well presented and clean. The service was personal, warm and responsive. I highly recommend Novotel Ellerslie if staying in the central suburbs.

Always a great stay at Novotel/Ibis Ellerslie. The bar serves a fantastic wine list with great food. The rooms are always nice and clean. Whilst the recent charge for parking is less than ideal for guests, it now does seem to make it easier to get a park

Pretty average hotel to stay at. Thought it was a bit pricey for the night but costs are covered by work

Sam and his staff went out of their way to make my stay with them comfortable. The hotel was quite busy but staff continued to be considerate and helpful with requests. Thank you again for hosting me!
