We are a regional planning agency that serves two counties on Virginia's Eastern Shore, namely Accomack and Northampton. Our services include:

Comprehensive Planning: We help local governments develop comprehensive plans that guide growth and development over a 20-year horizon. These plans address issues such as land use patterns; transportation systems; environmental protection; economic development; housing needs; public facilities such as schools or parks; historic preservation; tourism promotion among others.

Community Development: We provide technical assistance to local governments on a variety of community development projects including downtown revitalization efforts or affordable housing initiatives. We also administer grant programs from state or federal agencies aimed at improving infrastructure or providing social services.

Housing Programs: ANPDC administers several housing programs designed to assist low- to moderate-income households with home repairs or down payment assistance for first-time homebuyers. These programs are funded by state or federal grants.

Transportation Planning: ANPDC works with VDOT (Virginia Department of Transportation) on regional transportation projects such as road improvements or transit service enhancements.

Environmental Planning: ANPDC provides technical assistance on environmental issues related to land use decisions including wetlands protection regulations compliance review among others.
