everyone is kind and i know this because I'm a student at this school

This school is good and bad at the same time. I hope the school changes in the years because when I was in this school In 6th grade I had the worse experience there. For example I was bullied at that school all year long and my teacher did the same thing without her even knowing she was hurting one of her students or I hope she didn't because if she did that's a messed up teacher and I have told the office before but they didn't do anything. One of the things I hate was the dress code you have to wear a blazer, a long white sleeve shirt, a tie, Khaki pants, black shoes,a belt, and have the school emblem on the shirts if you don't have any of these the student can get written up and get after school detention. Another thing that I hate is that the student gets graded not by the assignments or homework it's all about one damn test and they can get held back if the school wants to hold you back. But the good things about the school is that they do try to help there children with after school tutoring and the staff are really nice there to. I'm only giving this school 3 out of 5 stars I don't recommend this school at all but it's your choice to go or not.

Looks great at first. So far the staff has been good. Although I have heard rumors about holding students back for low exam scores,claiming it's State law. BS. I'll pull my kid before summer.
School policies Like detention for not completing homework/ reading log, what is that?
The most ridiculous is the uniform,embroidery etc,what a circus. School should have pre embroidered shirts for sale on site.
The homework is a chore, even I have trouble with it.
I had,have hopes that this school would be good for my son,a higher level of learning,
Now I'm not so sure.

This school tells us to be quiet and we will get something for it when people who check the school are there. Plus thats why we were an A. School i would not recommend this school im still suffering in it help us shut it down please

THIS SCHOOL IS THE WORST!!!! The principal does not care about the school or the student's, when I was there they served me the worst lunch of ma life! the chicken was RAW, and when I went and told the teacher, THEY DID NOTHING. The teacher told me the meat w as medium rare! But there is no such as MEDIUM RARE CHICKEN!!!!! I COULD HAVE DIED!!

I ve been in this school for 3 years and I sort of like this school but there is so many bad things about this school! There is pretty lit friends there and stuff but The School is worse than hell. These are the reason why they make the school worse. The lunch is horrible, Teachers and staff are bullies, Drama, No playground just straight up grass and concrete, LOTS OF HOMEWORK, Etc. This school straight up trash I wouldn t recommend it. Go to another school instead!

This school is the worst school that s ever been built, I am an 8th grader here and I want to start off by saying this school is so unorganized, they hire like 10 different teachers because the teachers don t teach. Our ELA teacher got fired for not teaching us and our teacher was the CEO of academy del sol, all he did was brag to us middle schoolers of how he has a bunch of money and how he drives a Mercedes Benz, he has like 10 kids, it s pretty sad. Besides that the administration blames everything on us middle schoolers and have no respect towards us. They should treat us how they want to be treated because they are so RUDE! And all they do is label us and BAD DISRESPECTFUL teenagers but in reality no that s not the case, the reason is, is because this school makes us so miserable that we just give up because they don t care about us. And the only thing they care about is the dress code violations and not our education. How funny! When they say that they are the smartest school but can t even manage to teach us right. Idek how this school isn t shut down because it s so bad, I can t wait to leave this school IM SO MISERABLE I WANT TO LEAVE . they treats us like prisoners and we only get like 10 minutes of recess I recommend your child only coming her from kindergarten to like 4th grade DO NOT COME HERE also the principals don t do anything all they do is judge every student ! And all the school administrators do is just sit on their lazy butts! this school deserves a 0 !!!!!

Horrible school,the staff including the principle had the 5th and 6th girls sitting on the hot concrete in the sun while only the boys played and made fun of them and the whole school pushes the kids to the point that the kids don't even want to go to school anymore

I went to this school for the fourth grade, as soon as I got to class, girls where just teaming up on me and bullying me right off the bat. They made rumors about me and no one was my friend, everybody hated me. Everyday I would come home crying. The homework was insane. My mom pulled me out of school before summer break, then I went to Marybelle Mcorkle. It's a pretty good school.

First year at ADS so far, I have one in K, 3rd and 6th. I agree I can see it not being for everyone, parents do have to be involved with homework. our first couple weeks of homework took getting used to for all of us because it is alot (seems that way) but it does become more routine and not as stressful. Also 2/3 of my kids teachers use an app called class dojo which comes in handy for HW questions or just to touch base. My two oldest previously came from TUSD district, one with an IEP and he is and has retained more in the 3 months hes been there then he did at his previous school. My K child is already learning subtraction and when we are out and about she is pointing out words. I think they are doing great. I highly recommend.

No accountability. No one knows what is going on and the new principal is a joke. I would like to know her qualifications.

They give put wayyyy to much homework and you have little time to complete it aswell. Kids are cool though.

I sent my son here for the 2 months. Teachers and staff way to unorganized. Parking lot is fire hazard and a accident waiting to happen. A staff member got hurt trying to direct traffic. School is having hard time. Principle like to down every school districts and never answer problems they are having. They have had over 50% drop out. They playground for kindergarten was the classroom. This school looks nice but it's a big joke. Move my son to a different school and he even told me he happy that he got a new school that his new teacher listens to him and help him. Principle and his ex wife got schools going since the split and him getting new girl pregnant,seems to lose drive to care for the kids. Talk like it a inconvenience. Plus there is the original school probably getting most of the funds.just was a big disappointment.

Very good school. But it is for children with high academic level if not, it needs a lot of help from the parents.

The curriculum is good. More advanced and more expected out of students. The students seem happier. After school activities are available for working parents.

I do NOT like this school at all, I m miserable here. The teachers give up on us all way too fast, they show no respect for any of us and seem to always have anger towards the middle schoolers. I do understand that sometimes we give bad attitudes but it s going to happen, not saying it s right but no body can expect someone to shut up and not have an opinion all the time. I would truly understand if the teachers had to treat us this way if we were the type of students who smoked, did drugs, fought and worse things but the students don t have these problems. The most the staff can complain about us, is that we talk to much and we give attitudes. The mature adults the teachers are supposed to be,have pitty parties and feel bad for themselves like they didn t know what they were signing up for when they started.We as students have even more things that we could complain about but we don t. The staff honestly doesnt understand us and that may be a common term that nobody cares to hear but it s true. They don t know all the stress this school puts us through, all the work we have to do everyday, and how they may make us feel, sometimes we don t want to hear them talk to us about how much they don t want us at the school. If we don t put enough energy during class one day out of the whole freaking month they want to email your parents and get you in trouble. Some days student aren t in the best mood for personal reasons or no reasons at all but they don t consider any of that when your having one bad day, they just automatically label you as a disprespectful middle schooler.The schools education is really good, send your child here if you want them to have some of the best education but not enjoy school. Unless the school changes it s unorganizedness and disrespect towards middles school, I recommend sending your kid here only up to 5th grade, if you do any longer get ready for your child to have the worst 6th,7th and 8th grade. I can say that only a few teachers show love towards the students and actually care about us and that is really appreciated.

I went here many years ago in 4th through half of 5th grade. I am currently in 12th grade but from what my sister and I remember from our time here was that it was terrible. I personally remember being verbally harassed by the principals daughter and a couple of her friends. I also remember them accusing me of doing drugs and fighting a kindergartener when I was in 5th grade . Another thing I vividly remember is them brainwashing students saying if they wanted to end up like tusd school even though tusd schools are infinitely better than this joke of a school. Another thing I remember was the massive work load on my sister and I, my sister was even threatened to be held back because she didnt understand division at the time. Another thing I want to add was that this school was SUPER unorganized. My advice is send your kids elsewhere where they can actually learn and be kids. This school is a waste of time ,money and energy.

I hate this school so much I got suspended for a thing I didn't do I got called names I went there for 6th 7th grade and I move out of the school do not come to this school

This is a convenient school for my daughter, but she has complained a lot about the teachers including homework and the way the school is currently ran.

At first, I thought this school would be great to improve my daughter's grades when she reaches high school. However, I had the opposite effect when I looked through PowerSchool to see that my daughter had lower grades than her previous school. Her teacher held a conference for the retention list, and they said she hasn't been doing her work lately and her grades have lowered. After the conference, my daughter confessed that her teachers don't teach at all and they give out too much homework; thus why she doesn't do it I assume. At the end of the year, her grades stayed the same with barely any improvements on all core subjects including reading, math, and writing. However, she did make it to 9th grade, and this school supposedly said that "they teach a grade higher"-- is what my daughter explained.

If you are a parent looking for a good school for your child DO NOT SEND THEM to this school; Academy Del Sol. I promoted from there just last year and its honestly horrible. When I started in 4th grade everything went well until benchmark testing came by. My 4th grade teacher never taught us anything so he gave us the answers instead of giving us the curriculum. Then after that everything was fine until 8th we had this hirrible science teacher who said he was a famous actor and such. He physically hurt two students and got suspended for one day and another teacher verbally insulted a student and got suspended for two days. Honestly, its as if they are saying that its ok to harm others. What's also ridiculous is the uniform. ITS WAY TOO EXPENSIVE; AND NOT EVEN WORTH WEARING. One little mistake and a dress code here and there and getting 3 would lead to "Wednesday Detention". A detention that would last 3 hours. Uniforms may look professional but they go way too far. This school can become stressful for your child they give so much homework and expect alot of their students. You might think its discilpine but its not I honestly believe its torture. The homework is so much grades will begin to fall. Staff and teachers are bad I dont even know if they interview them; its as if they just find someone "suitable" for the job and tell them "Your hired". Grades are only based on benchmark testing and tests throughtout the school year and thats what also brings grades down. Its a waste of time because they teach a grade higher and some students dont understand it takes time. And "Reading Logs" are honestly a waste of time energy and I honestly found it childish they never gave a reward. Every spring break they have a Washington DC. Trip but how can they pay for it all? Well ADS hold these things called "Free Dress Down"; and here you think "OH ITS FREE!" Well too bad nothing is free in this world! Dress down costs five dollars; two for shirt and pants, and one dollar for shoes. Why must students pay to dress the way they want to; they technically take away our 1st Amendment: Free Speech. They use money from that to pay for a Washington Trip instead for school field trips. Bullying. The one thing that happens in every school. I honestly believe that bullying here is not taken seriously. I remember my sister having a bullying problem. We told the principal didnt help then our mother engagded and the principal said; (who by the way is a joke to all prinipals and teachers) "I dont remember anything of a complaint". This school is a waste if time, energy, and money. ITS NOT WORTH IT DON'T SEND YOUR CHILD HERE.

If there was a negative star that's what I'd give them. My son has a poor excuse of a teacher. This woman is late to lining up in the morning. Other teachers have to lead her class to her room. ( take note the principal is NOOOOwhere to be seen. EVER!) This teacher lacks social skills to the extent to when you're picking up your child from her class she doesn't say hello back, not even as a comon courtesy. This teacher needs to rethink her calling, because this carrer path isn't for her.
They hand.your child a huge packet on Monday of homework that you have to teach your kid. So not only are they in class for extended time, you finish having to do another 2 hours of homework a day with them with things that they don't see in class and are expected to know in class by Thursday.YES IN FIRST GRADE!! But, trust me not only are their underqualified teaches here, everyone in the front office hates being there and they make sure you know it. I asked if I could buy a tie and this #$/_ tells me I have to pre-order them, I drop off my child when I walk back through the front she's showing ties to someone and I ask her so what are these? And why can she buy them and I have to preorder them?
OH and be ready to be run over or if not, almost run over in their parking lot. There is no one there directing traffic and the overflow parking that they can use, is always stupidly coned off.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY in this school they lack to inform new parents of anything thast's going on. Even picture day. IF YOU DONT KNOW anyone working here you're $_($; out of luck.

this school is the worst . everyone is the worst here. the staff act like they own the whole school. teachers dont even teach right. some teachers have been leaving this school because they dont get paid enough. this school doesnt even care for their students there has been getting harassed here. spmetimes teahcers fail their students for no reason

This school does expect your child to be accountable for their own actions (includes homework and behavior). This school does expect their students to look business appropriate with a strict uniform. There is a lot of homework you will have to guide your children through. This is a public school that sets up their students to have pride in their work and themselves. This school is pruning your children for a higher education work load. My children have been here from the beginning, I agree it is not for everyone, my children thrive here and we are proud of them and our school.
