I love this school! The administration, teachers, and staff are truly wonderful and really care about the kids. There are so many exceptional teachers at AATL that inspire enthusiasm for learning, and motivation for discovering and developing individual talents. My two children have had a very positive and well rounded educational experience filled with "joy in the journey" at AATL.

I feel like my son s learning has not stopped and he is actively engaged in educational activities every day. It s amazing how his teachers have developed lessons that not only teach but also have him outside, using multiple forms of technology, and developing his creativity. His third grade teachers have been easily accessible and offer feedback to him right away.

I've been going since Grade 7 and I've loved it more every year. The teachers care about every student and it shows in so many ways. Also, we are a community. We work together. We learn together. We prosper together. And I love how connected the school is, we have such events like house day and all-school assemblies where 1st graders and 11th graders can all cheer together and have fun!
I really enjoyed the teachers as well as the small-knit community that Academy has to offer.
This is more than a school ... academic excellence, highly educated teachers that care about understanding and success of each individual child, giving the power of self awareness and confidence, collaborative classes, fairness in inter and outer competitive skills both academic and athletic, and so much more in this community .... not just a school, but a home away from home nurturing the minds and leaders of tomorrow.
We had a phenomenal year in kindergarten and her teacher was by far the best there is. It really created a love and dedication to the school that unfortunately didn t extend past that. Things went downhill rather rapidly from there. There is some growth needed. I hope no family goes through what they have put us through especially within the last month. My daughter feels so disheartened and it s mind blowing the way adults are willing to punish a child due to their inability to effectively work through problems. When I asked how they ve mediated my concerns there was no answer given just that they have . My daughters teachers knew it was her last day there and none of them said bye to her. I never was updated on her academic progress in two subject areas but they had time to have several other meetings bad mouthing my daughter despite the fact she has never been in trouble there. It s a school that prides themselves on communication but if they don t like what they hear they dismiss you rather than work through the problem effectively for the benefit of the child. Any school willing to punish a 7 year old to escape an uncomfortable situation isn t the school for you.
If you are looking for a tailored, challenging, college prep education for your children, it doesn't get any better than Academy At the Lakes. The teachers and administrators here are amazing. Academy at the Lakes excels at developing its students, to their individual highest potential. As a prior catholic school alumni & parent, who researched and visited every private school in the area, I can highly recommend Academy at the Lakes, without hesitation.
My experience with my son at Academy at the Lakes was really bad, the worse experience of our lives.
First of all his books for history and health classes were from 1995 and the rest of his classes didn't have books because " the school did not have money for new books" , really? don't have money for books, we paid $1000 for enrollment and books, so were is all the money for books going, surely for the head master , who drives a 2013 Cadillac !!!
One of his classes had 7 teachers during the year, that means that he almost had a different teacher every month, that is unacceptable for any school specially when you are paying such an outrageous amount of money which is almost the same as a private college???
After being in the school for 2 months we decided that the best thing to do was to change my son to another High School and when we sat down to talk to the Head Master and the High School Director guess what happened? they said that the agreement that we had signed states that we will be responsible for the tuition even if we pull him out, can you believe that ? what a scam !!!!!!
So my son had to stay in the school the rest of the year , what a terrible thing to do, but of course I understand why they do it? because if they didn't do that I guarantee you that 1/2 of the school will leave within the first 2 months of school.
They say they are a College prep school, what a joke, they are very far from that , imagine that they don't even have books !!!!!!
We do not recommend this school to anybody, we will like to go to the TV news with this story because surely we want to protect our community from scams like these.
