We reported a little girl who was 15 years old and dating a 21 year old and that someone reported the mothers 29 year old boyfriend had sex with her daughter neither this police department nor the landlord did any kind of investigation even though there were witnesses its very disgusting. And these types of reports should not be passed up....
Don't believe any of the hooligans saying the police here don't care. If you're kind and courteous and obey the law, they'll return the favor. These guys are people, not robots made to lick the dirt off your feet. Some people need to get over themselves. You're safe in this town.
I can only speak for Sergeant Smith and Officer Janousz in saying that the amount of professionalism and respect they displayed with myself and my husband today was actually quite remarkable. I cannot go into detail but I am so very grateful. Police officers who conduct themselves in this manner should be recognized. They actually listened to me and my situation. Doing both a dangerous and emotionally taxing job daily it is astonishing to come across two officers in the same department who aren't completely jaded. Sgt. Smith took the time to actually discuss with me and help me when he didn't have to do any of that. I really feel like he should be recognized. Thank you for your help, thank you for putting up with so much and still waking up everyday and putting on your uniform. Thank you for your decency and compassion. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I was in a car accident and I do not live in Abilene. Officer Loren Adlesperger was the responding officer. So nice and understanding! Helped me and made me feel better until my husband and dad could get there.
Initially they were actually helpful. I will give them that.
But after the death of a relative, in trying to claim this relatives items that were taken from the home... I have been given the run around. No one will return my calls. The person they tell me I need to speak to is NEVER at work. Apparently he only works 2 days a week and often takes vacation days when I call... Awfully convenient. It's been 2 weeks now and I'm still calling this place every day. Some is still taking my information down or emailing someone to contact me and I have received not one phone call. Not a single call! Thanks APD.

Officer was not very educated in the law for someone who claimed to have been studying it for 18 years...prolly why hes still a street cop after all this time...they waste time harassing tax paying citzens instead of dealing with the meth epidemic that plagues our community...sad excuse for a civil servant!

The police talked to me and handcuffed me very gently. Their car was also very roomy. Food wasn t the best but very nice people at the place. 10/10 would get arrested by them again
I ve dealt with APD on several occasions, this morning being one. The responding officer was candid and honest about the situation, and was legitimately concerned with resolving the issue on the lowest level possible, and this is a common experience when dealing with APD. Out of all of the places the military has moved me, the local police here are some of the best officers I ve met and are a direct challenge to what the media has portrayed law enforcement in a negative light.
