Beware of being billed twice for the same service!...

Beware of being billed twice for the same service! They will charge your credit card AND your insurance company for the same virtual visit. Moreover, upon contacting them to resolve the above issue, they will tell you that "you're confused" and politely gas light you that you don't understand how insurance claims work!

Dr. Jensen was fantastic. She diagnosed my illness and sent in the Rx to my local Walmart pharmacy. From start (downloading of app) to finish (filled Rx), it was only about an hour. Sign up fee was $20 for first year, but I will gladly pay for additional years when it expires. No insurance needed.

I give this app one star because there is no option for zero star. This is my first try of this app and it will be my last try as well.

When I requested for service, i selected Chinese as the language option, since the patient can speak only Chinese but not English (not myself).

The paired doctor responded very quickly. First, I asked the doctor if she can speak Chinese so that she can talk to the patient directly. The doctor said no. Then I offered to do translation for the patient. The doctor refused and said she can not provide service to any patient who can not speak English.

If this is the case, why did the system pair a patient who requested for Chinese language service with a doctor who refused patient that can not speak English? Or why did this doctor pick up this patient when the doctor already knew that the patient can not speak English? This makes no sense!

Avoid 98point6. It just cheats for money!

I have used the service a few times. All at times I couldn t see a primary care provider at my normal office. I love being able to text chat and if needed chat with a provider. I will be keeping this service after my first year it s worth every penny.

I conducted a visit due to some unusual swelling in reaction to a personal training session. Thanks to Dr. G. and 98point6 for seeing me quickly (within 10 minutes), being willing to jump on a video call to discuss unusual symptoms, and recommending I go to urgent care for testing. If I hadn t done a visit with 98point6, I would not have gone to urgent care because I was not in any significant pain. It seemed like just overworked muscles from exercise but lab work at urgent care diagnosed a rare and dangerous muscular disorder that if gone undiagnosed could have caused potentially fatal kidney failure. If it were not for the cautious recommendation by the 98point6 physician for me to go to urgent care, I could have been in serious danger. Instead, I got the necessary treatment in the hospital for a week and prevented potential long term consequences to my kidneys, and potentially have discovered a rare muscular disease that could explain lifelong muscle pain. Thanks to 98point6 for their caution and smart advice that prevented something from becoming worse.

I'm not sure what to think of this business. I've used them twice and my experiences were on both ends of the spectrum.

My 1st experience was amazing and the doctor was one of the best I've ever encountered. If it was an option to exclusively use that doctor I would be all over it. I was impressed with the level of care and expected my next experience to be similar because I assume they hire top notch doctors.

My second experience was horrible and I'm not even sure how the person is a doctor! My 98.6 experience wasted my time and left me irritated and concerned for patients that may not be prudent enough to know when to seek a second opinion.

Because the first doctor was amazing I'll give them benefit of the doubt and try them at least one more time. Its a great business model and I'd like to see it be successful. I hope they take customer service seriously and only employ / retain good doctors.

Update- I called customer service and received a prompt follow-up call from another physician. I was impressed with follow-up and the Dr. fully explained the reasoning behind decisions made by the physical I wasn't happy with. I changed my 3 star review to 5 stars and will use them again. Its great to know they have quality and safety assurance processes in place as well as excellent customer service assistance should you need it. I hope their business continues to grow because its a great model!

My 19yr old daughter contracted Mononucleosis (Eppstein-Barr) back in September 2019. She has had several re-occurrences of swollen tonsils since, this can happen with this condition. She typically goes to her primary care either at school or locally. For each re-occurrence the physician has provided steroid therapy to mitigate the symptoms. My company recently got onboard with this organization, so we thought we should try it, its free. After a thorough explanation of her condition via chat with the online "physician", the physician led her to believe she was providing her with a prescription for a one pill steroid therapy solution. She typically gets multi-pack steroid pill prescription for this in the past. This did not seem appropriate so she went to her primary physician's office, who prescribed the normal multi-pack therapy. Our pharmacist educated us about the so-called one pill steroid therapy solution that the online physician prescribed, he said that this was not true. He said that this is how they operate, they typically prescribe the minimum amount of medication to "check the box" (that they did something), therapy effectiveness is a lesser consideration. We will NOT be using this service again, BEWARE!!
