Born and bred on antigua and love my island! The ocean is my absolute favorite and try to be on it as much as possible. The people are friendly and we are in a bit of a drought- so excuse if we aren't looking too green

Antigua (Sister Island to Barbuda) is an Eastern Caribbean Island and in many respects the heart of the Caribbean. Boasting some 365 white sandy Beaches (The Beach is just the Beginning, according to the promo) and replete with many islets and inlets this Tropical Paradise has lots to offer. Located in the vicinity of Guadeloupe, Montserrat, Nevis and St. Kitts (all mentioned Island can be seen from Antigua on clear days and vice versa). The proximity to the US mainland and other parts of the World is paramount (I like to tell all who would listen that Antigua is closer to New York City than California is to NYC also Closer to Toronto, Canada than is BC).

I Love this country. I was born here and enjoy living here. I live where you vacation as the saying goes. Ranked as one of the most beautiful Caribbean Island and with some of the most friendly people, my Antigua is indeed a delight. With picturesque Landscapes and Seascapes practically around every corner the visitor and indeed anyone on Island is rewarded with great weather all year round (best between December and April).

Replete with many Churches (Photographed and Reviewed elsewhere by me) also the many beaches and hotels (Photographed and Reviewed elsewhere by yours truly). Travelling around the Island and enjoying the special character of distinctive areas is indeed a pleasure for me, sampling most of the hiking trails and endeavoring to capture the most popular and interesting feature of my beloved country will always remain with me.

Antigua is definitely a place to visit and enjoy, there are many activities and sights and year round warmth to be enjoyed by all.

I've been to many islands and Antigua is the best. Starting with the modern international airport and cab stand (no haggling necessary ), everything is organized and friendly. The island is really beautiful and the beaches are outstanding, with white sand and warm clear water. This is my "go to" island.

Lovely island. Exactly what you'd expect island life to be like. Lots of restaurants at every turn. More beaches than you can visit in the time here. The island features a nice rainforest and clear, beautiful waters everywhere you look. There are many activities all around the island for all ages. Great experience!

Antigua is a wonderful island with decent and honest people. We have been throughout the Caribbean (Mexico, Jamaica, Cuba, DR, St. Marten, Saba, etc.) and nothing is even close. I strongly recommend that you put Antigua on your short list.

The colors of the sea are something exceptional ... make unforgettable and unique landscapes.
The beaches are immense and full of attractions: you can take a catamaran trip, you can rent acquascooters or you can let yourself be conquered by the friendliness of the population.

365 different beaches, warm friendly atmosphere.

365 different beaches, warm friendly atmosphere.

There are types you can go on to see all or some of the coastline by water as well as tours by land. It's rich with history.

You can enjoy hiking, fishing and even gambling. They're two golf courses if you're into that. Music on Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays and of course the weekends.

Sailing Week, ROAC 600, carnival and fishing tournaments are fun events to attend.

Be prepared for the following.

The main and especially the side roads are in desperate need of maintenance. Two major roads are being overhauled but has been taking more than forever to complete.

Be careful if you're driving. The people have a first come bigger vehicle right of way.

Basic necessities are a lot higher than most places due to extremely unfair duties being implemented so budget accordingly.

Overall, a great place to visit. If you do decide to visit, make sure you come for at least two weeks.
