The workers there are not very intelligent. Be warned. The food is gross. But the washrooms are worse. Other than that it is an amazing experience. Everyone needs to do this at least once in their lives. Arrive early to avoid dissapointment. On the long weekends they show 3 films. Which is nice but we did not get homr until 445am.
First class experience, even on the busiest long weekend! The staff are all hard working and the washrooms were fairly decent with so many guests. Great fun for a group of friends, date night, or the whole family!
Great fun for groups, families & dates. Watching 2-3 movies for $13 a person is awesome! They also have the fill your car Thursday deal for $20. It can get really busy during peak times (Saturday's and holidays) so plan your night accordingly to get a good parking spot. Don't forget to bring blankets, bug spray and always have booster cables incase yours/someone's battery dies(which is very common).
Why is there 1 person selling tickets at 7:50 when the movie stars at 8:05 and there is a lineup of about 30 cars. I haven't even made it in to theatre yet and I'm already not impressed.
I love the drive in but the washrooms were not cleaned even though they just opened and they ran out of everything that we had asked for at the concessions
Best drive-in spot in the area. The screens are very big and regardless of where you're parked, you're bound to see the screens. There's a lot of space between the cars which offers privacy. The washrooms are not very clean but I don't really use them anyway.
Great price and experience. Better with a SUV or a pickup truck where you can sit at the back in open. Have a radio with you to listen to sound, this will save your gas and battery life. Overall experience was awesome.
So much fun! Make sure to show up atleast an hour early to get a spot. I showed up 40 mins before and was stuck almost in the back row! Also would recommend leaving 10 mins before the movie is over so you don t get stuck in traffic trying to leave! 100% would recommend!
My first time going, great experience I loved that I could still go to the movies during this unprecedented time, stayed in my car, in my own space, and enjoyed myself...loved it! Definitely going back!
Great spot to hang out on a summer night. Heard about this drive in movie theatre from a friend. I've always loved the idea of a drive in. Very easy to find. Right off of Ford drive. There was a line up of cars to get in but it was because we went on a long weekend. The admission fee gives you access to 3 movies on one screen (only on weekends). You don't have to watch all of the movies. We went to see Annabelle comes home. If you want a good parking spot I suggest you come a bit early. Bring blankets and get comfy. In order to hear the audio from the movie you have to turn on your radio to a specific station the ticket attendant will inform you of which station you need to put it to. There is a great selection of food/snack options if you are feeling hungry. Highly recommend.
The actual movie portion was fantastic, the process of getting tickets and finding a spot and all that was great.
The issue we had was the food service. It seems any managers/adults were unavailable this evening to keep the teenagers in check. It shouldnt take 30 minutes to serve a burger and fries. While I'm all for enjoying your time with friends at work, the cooks working the grill need to stay at their posts, and not leave food sitting on the grill while they go into the back room to do who knows what. While we stood there waiting impatiently, missing the first half of Spongebob the movie, the teens were crowding around the nacho cheese, dipping chips directly into it for some reason. Not really the best look, and definitely not up to health and safety standards. Many of the staff were also frequently removing their masks while inside despite there being signage everywhere asking patrons to wear their masks while inside the snack stand.
Anyways, Spongebob, Bill and Ted, and Spiderman were amazing films. The teens running rampant and unsupervised at the concessions were less than stellar. Despite the signs everywhere saying not to bring food from outside, we will most definitely bring our own food next time, if only to make sure we actually get to watch the movies we paid for.
Great shows. Kids loved it. Bathrooms are really busy just before and in between shows. Can be annoying if you have a minivan in front of you with their hatch open. Get there early (like 2 hrs) to get a choice parking spot
I love this idea of outdoor movie. Its a great place to go for a date or friends. the cars can leave their headlight on when they enter so it kinda disturbs the whole crowd. you can control the sound through radio. highly recommend especially on half price tuesdays.
its AMAZING!!! beyond amazing and even more. such a great idea for dates. After having been to the drive in, i can't go back to the regular movie theaters again...
If you don't like the smell of weed then coming here would not be such a good idea--especially if you have kids. The farther in the back you park, the stronger the smell. But if you don't mind it, the price is very well worth it for the movies they show. Pretty good selection of movies.
It was nice, but service has a huge role on whether a place is excellent or "meh". On the night of November 10th, 2020, the young girl attendant at the concession was not very disconnected and not present while working. She seemed to give more importance to her phone. I placed an order for poutine and mentioned it would be ready in 5 minutes. There was no communication between this young girl and the kitchen staff in the back. After 20 minutes, I had waited by the window for a poutine I commented that it wasnt fair for me to wait 20 minutes for a poutine and miss that much of the film. Her response was very rude in that she shrugged her shoulder and with me talking to the back of her head, she brushed it off. Terrible service can make or break a place. She was more interested on what was happening on her phone. I paid for a full movie and got terrible service instead - not even able to enjoy the movie. Short girl with long black hair. Do something about this.
A close by place to go for outdoor movie fun with friends and family. Conveniently located in Oakville by 403. Recommend this place but rated only 4 bcoz all the speakers in parking area are long gone, only the barren poles stand so you completely rely on your car or FM speakers
Awesome experience especially for those of us that remember back in the days going with the family or friends as a kid and enjoying the night here watching 2 movies and eating junk food ! Ah the memories sigh lol. I think the younger generation would also enjoy this as you get to make all the noise you want in your own car. Only try not to have a small car like I do as my back hurts from leaning over to see the screen lol lol. As you can see by the photos the place is HUGE ! Also check out the snack bar menu items. You have to try the FRIED PICKLES trust me...
The foods from concession stand were decent and comparable to regular theatres. The only problem was since they use radio to broadcast movie sound, there was a small delay on the audio, which had a minor impact on the viewing experience.
Nostalgia-laden multi-screen drive-in theatre showing first run films in modern digital projection. They truly make it as fun an experience as possible. There is a children's playground, a cart that brings most popular items around to the furthest screen parking to keep you from having to walk to the concession, a good variety of foods...everything you could want in a drive-in really.
For those who don't know, turn off your headlights when you are entering the theatre area to avoid disrupting your fellow patrons. ***Park, put your parking brake on, turn your car off and then back to accessories. This turns off your daytime running lights and gives you the radio to listen to the movie audio.***
A traditional retro style movie place for family and friends fun. A time well spent and I am happy that how nicely they manage hundreds of vehicles. I even saw staff busy advising people to turn their car headlights off as few had it running as it was cold. I had a towel I placed over the hood covering headlights so no issues. Cafeteria food was tasty however we brought salad with us. Dogs are allowed as long as they're on leash. A wonderful Thanksgiving long weekend time spent.
They could add some more washrooms!!! Be sure to line up early. Giant pickles are gross. Dog friendly. Child friendly. They need some sort of security when all cars evacuate after movie.
Would have given 5 stars but those bathrooms are atrocious! (Yes, I know it's not all on them but an upgrade would help big time). But don't let the bathrooms stop you because it's a lot of fun with family and friends to go and watch movies outside
Always a summer favorite place to see a movie. Nothing beats a movie under the stars on a summer night. Bring a lawn chair and sit outside your vehicle! It's a great feeling and a summertime must. Lots of snacks to choose from in the snack bar, from popcorn to pulled pork. Hoping they're still there for years to come.
Love this drive-in theater. Unfortunately, there isn't many out there anymore, but this place is great. They keep the lots clean and organized, I have had no issue the many times I go every year. They have a concession stand where screen 1 is located, but have a cart that goes around the lots of the other screens, so you are always covered! Would definitely recommend this to anyone
Saw Secret Lives of pets 2 on screen 2. Extremely poor sound. Complaints from many cars. Volume on full and hardly hear anything. Heavy static at times.
Movie line up is super BS this year, why would they suddenly play the blockbuster film second after a movie that's been out for months? I don't get it, they play Spiderman first on the week days but second on the weekends, this means my kids don't get to watch what we've been looking forward to at the drive-in this weekend, Second weekend in a row we got disappointed
The staff I've encountered was pretty friendly. Screens are bright enough, and the movie selection is up to date. Unfortunately, this establishment does bring in plenty of under-educated people that don't know how to TURN OFF THEIR LIGHTS. Pull up your handbrakes people!
We go here every years. Tuesdays and Thursdays are deal days. Carry beach chairs, your own popcorn and warmers (if you go in autum). Best bang for bucks if you want to Watch back to back latest movies.
Nice to catch a movie on the big screen in relative safety from covid! It's a pity that the drive in can't accommodate with some kind of screen for cars that have difficulty turning off headlights, as it affects other movie goers quality of experience.
Love coming here with the family! Kids have a blast, but never stay awake for the second flick. Just think it's something the kids need to do at least a couple times in their life before all the drive-ins disappear. The only draw back is the snack bar, way too long of a wait for anything, way too long, but definitely a must do for the kids at least once if you've never gone!
Went to Subiefest here instead of an actual movie. It is probably great for movies, but it was way too dusty for my liking. Here are some of the great cars we saw.
Great place for the family, weve been coming here since our kids were babies and its always nice having a place you can snuggle up with the family and enjoy a good movie
This was our first experience at 5 Drive-In and we enjoyed it a lot. We were not as well prepared as others, but now know what to get for next time. Blankets and chairs!
Awful experience! We showed up 1 hour and 10 mins before our movie. It took us about half an hour to get in, which wasn't a big deal at all. We parked and headed over to the concession stand to get some movie favorites. We get to the consessuon, and the line is out the door. Not a big deal, we still had about an hour until show time. We waited and waited, the line didn't seem to move. After a 55 mins in line it was evident that we would be missing some of our movie. We finally get to the front of the line to see two people on cash...going extremely slow. We ordered our food and we needed to wait another 10-15 mins just to get it...oh and when we got the food is was wrong... We finally made it about 30 mins into our movie. Not too impressed with how slow the service was. I've tried to call, but of course noone answers. For the amount we paid to get in and for the amount we paid to hey food, we should have been able to see the FULL movie we paid for.
Usually I m a HUGE fan of the 5 drive in but honestly I m so unimpressed after tonight s experience. Our car unfortunately died at the end of the first movie so we requested a boost from the worker at the snack bar. She let us know they would be around shortly and to put the hood all the way up. We did so and waited patiently. Half an hour passed and we still hadn t seen a single person. So we asked another worker at the washroom and she said the same thing. Now it s been 45 minutes and so we walk to the front to ask another staff if they ve seen the guys. He s sitting on his phone on the golf cart and said they were in another screen and would be there shortly. We wait another 15 minutes and still no one so we try calling the box office to see if we can speak to anyone. The girl on the phone was super nice but let us know they were in screen 2 (our screen). My boyfriend walked around the entire parking lot and couldnt find a single person. Finally we try the snack bar again (after over an hour) and the lady working tried telling us we would have to wait until the next movie is over. At this point we re so frustrated and actually were about to call a friend to come give us a boost instead because we just want to go home at this point. We decided to walk around ALL THREE screens one more time and found two of the workers sitting on the golf cart behind the concession of screen 1. As soon as I walked up the worker looked at me and said do you need a boost? To which I responded and let him know we ve been waiting for over an hour at this point and not one single person has actually shown up to help. This worker barely let me finish my sentence and began to cut me off and say ok we ll be there shortly before driving away. They finally showed up after an hour and a half. Never again.
A different experience when watching a movie. You get 2 movies for the price of one. On Thursdays a carload is just $17. Definitely bring a blanket and some folding chairs.
