I have 3 kids in 21cccs. My oldest went from a B/C/D student who was capable of more to an A/B student. She complains that the work is harder and the teachers expect more than her old school...yet she is able to complete the work, is learning more and has improved her grades. I can't get upset that the work is harder and more rigorous...and her grades are improving. The teachers are very accessible...something that we never had in a regular school. The other 2 children are also doing well. The teachers are very on top of them. They have worked hard with my autistic child to find ways to make this work for him. They are learning a lot of things that are important skills outside of school that they never could get in their regular school.

We were nervous about making the change to cyber school, but needed to make the change in order for our daughter to be able to move away from home and participate in an intense dance program. 21CCCS eased our worries, as soon as we met with them. They assisted us in setting up an education program that is challenging and offers courses and electives that are interesting. We have found that they are responsive to all of our questions and willing to continually discuss our daughter's educational path (hoping to graduate early). The flexibility has been amazing!! As parents with a child living away from home, we are able to monitor all aspects of our daughter's schooling (assignments, completed work, grades, etc.) through the parent portal, as well as utilize contacting teachers and school administrators. 21CCCS is enabling our daughter to pursue her education and dance dreams.

Three of my children have attended 21st Century Cyber Charter School over the past five years and our experience has been great! My kids have had all the experiences of a student at a brick and mortar school and then some. This school makes students excited to learn and allows them to really connect with their teachers. The one on one time between teachers and students is a learning experience my kids wouldn't give up. This school is great for any student and challenges them to work hard and really learn their subjects well.

The staff and teachers are amazing. My daughter was accepted to 12 colleges with three full scholarships and several outside scholarships thanks to the tireless effort of her teachers and guidance counselor willing to write recommendation after recommendation. I can't thank them enough! Her classes were challenging (especially AP), but teachers were always available through the Virtual Office to guide and provide assistance. I also appreciate the learning coaches frequently checking in to make sure my daughter stayed on top of her work. (Of course, my teen-aged daughter did roll her eyes every time she saw a phone call or an email from her learning coach)! The learning coach component takes the onus off of the parents for always being the ones nagging our kids to get their work finished. I love that accountability. Our experience at 21CCCS has been wonderful.

Horrible experience with this site. There are literally typos everywhere throughout the lessons. The website doesn't allow you to type a lot in the text submission box. It will repeatedly stop letting me, "and a fellow pupil who does the same program" type. It also doesn't allow me to select answers at certain times and during a timed quiz!?!?!? That's bs. The site is usually down at random times which they mentioned happenes. Overall the site has poor directions for the assignments. The teachers don't get back to you for help until days later. Even when I follow the directions completely they still give me a 0 because my answer was wrong. Even though it said you will receive full credit for 5 paragraphs, no more than 1 page, correct grammmer, and no contractions. Also for the essay to be on topic. Yet they still gave me a 0 because my answer was wrong. Yet no where in the directions did it say I was going to be graded on the answer being correct. A lot of the classes are tedious. The TI-84 Texas instruments calculator is what they provide you with for math courses. Which is by far one of the worst calculators rated for young adults and teens. Its very confusing to use no matter how hard I tried to teach myself. The entire math course is based on this calculator as well. Which is a horrible way to teach math. This school system failed me so hard I was begging to go back to real school. Where real school caused me so much pain I was in therapy for months. Yet I'd rather go back there and pass then fail in this horrible online school. If your looking into online school please consider all your other options. This site causes massive amounts of frustration. I have many friends who take this online school as well, that is why I tried it. Most of them are failing and feel the same way. The videos also cut out and restart at random times. Honestly this site is just a disgrace and I have no idea how they are still running successfully.

3 Teenage Sons - 3 VERY individual students with very different interests, strengths, weaknesses and learning styles, one of them even has additional special needs & challenges.
All three love 21st Century Cyber Charter School. It manages to challenge each of them on an individual level. For the first time in their school careers, we see a truer representation of their subject interests and which subjects might need another visit with the very knowledgable and encouraging teaching staff. From Honors classes to extra help for those struggling, the individual attention allows them to truly excel, each in his own way.
And don't worry, there are plenty of clubs, field trips to keep them social along with an enthusiastic PE department to keep them active.
Excellent education. I wish I knew about this school sooner. Highly recommended.

My sister and I are both current students at 21st Century Cyber Charter School, and we love it. We find it to be a good replacement for both brick and mortar public school and homeschool. Since it covers the whole of Pennsylvania, there is a wide variety of students that we are able to interact with everyday and on any of the non-mandatory, monthly trips that the school sets up. Students can also communicate in live classes, clubs, or via school email. Live classes are held every week for most classes, but students are not obligated to attend the live classes. Teachers record every class, as long as they are not working on class assignments with attending students. In these classes teachers encourage participation, and elaborate on what the students are/will be working through in the lessons. All teachers are also available throughout the week to help any student that may need assistance with their work. The staff in general is very helpful, considerate, and kind to all students, and they all do their best to make the cyber school experience the best it can be for every student.
Cyber schooling is a great experience for those who are looking to take on more responsibility or who wish to do other activities during the day like work or dedicate themselves to training for a sport. It may not be for everyone, but for those who are looking for a more flexible education it may be the perfect fit.

I have been at this school for 5 years now. I have never been so happy at a school in my entire life. The teachers here care about there students. Like they really care. They work with me on school and they don't stop working til I understand the material. Just everything about this school is more then I could ever ask for. I am graduating this year from this school and I am actually sad to leave. Imagine that. a student being sad to leave school. Im sad because I just love my teachers so much

I attended 21CCCS for all 4 years of high school, and I must say, it was one of the best decisions I've made. The teachers are all extremely helpful and friendly, the course work is challenging, yet still enjoyable. Attending 21CCCS has helped me to become the independent person I am today, and I can say with confidence that I would not be where I am had I gone to a different school. If you're considering attending this school and need a little push, let this be it. You will not regret your decision.

My daughter benefited from the flexibility to do her class work at her speed so that she could do musical theatre and also travel. She enjoyed the independence. It seems that it is flexible enough for different styles of learners, but you do have to be focused on your education. If you are not good at self guided or can't stay on task, this type of school will be difficult. The learning coaches do help with staying on task .
