I really enjoyed visiting Wordsworth House. It's not a big place by National Trust standards but there are a number of things to see. Firstly there is the history of the Wordsworth family. Not just William but his brothers and sister and children too. Then there is the house itself which gives you an idea of what life was like in those days, especially in the kitchen where they often prepare period recipes (sometimes you can have a taste). There is also an exhibition on how the national trust came to be and how it changed how we see the landscape. Finally, and this my favourite part, comes the garden where they grow fruit and vegetables and is a really tranquil place to sit despite being close to the town centre.
