I purchased a 2016 Volkswagen Passat from Joe Machens Mitsubishi on 11/14/2016. I picked the vehicle up on 11/15/2016. When I picked it up, they were unable to find the extra set of keys. The salesman stated that he would look for it and if they couldn't find it he would order it from the Volkswagen dealer, which is also owned by Joe Machens. There WAS an extra key. I know this because the tag on the key they had said 1 of 2. The salesman also admitted that he knew there was another set. Now that I have the vehicle, the salesman has completely blown me off and has been "too busy" to either look for it or order a key from the Volkswagen dealer. Last week, a representative from the Joe Machens Automobile group contacted me to complete a phone survey. In addition to answering her questions, I informed her of the problem and she wrote it down for it to be reviewed by management. That appears to have gone nowhere. They have their cash and therefore have no incentive to do the right thing.

The key for this vehicle is not your everyday key you can go to Lowes to have made. I contacted the Volkswagen dealer and he stated that the key alone would be in excess of $135 and then another $100+ to program so that it works.

If they can't be trusted to take care of something small like this you should think twice before doing business with them because they will not be there for you if something major happens
