We arrived on 2/10 (directly after a major convent...

We arrived on 2/10 (directly after a major convention) and having been in the food, beverage and hotel industry in a prior life (20 s got me through school) I am more than sympathetic to how difficult it is to summon the in house resources to turn over the amount of rooms your facility has... however, we finally were able to check in 20 mins to 4pm (a early ck in of 20 mins as we were reminded of as a grand gesture) we walked our luggage through trash engulfed hallways and smoky elevators to our room in the tower room 11429. Upon entering, the sunlight entering the windows revealed a myriad of dried substances reflecting off the vinyl floor... then we turned on the bathroom light to reveal a dried feminine pad (used) and partially peeled off as if housekeeping was cleaning, then attempted to clean it and then gave up... housekeeping was still out in the hallways and we pointed out the obvious stuff, and the woman asked us to wait outside the room while she got to it... (with a washcloth and broom in hand) after 3 mins she emerged insinuating all done ! Skeptical, we went back in only to find more of the wall substance had been removed (still leaving adhesive strip) and that s about it... my wife had it! She went out and pulled out all necessary cleaning liquids off of the closest cart and I did the floors while she did the bathrooms... we had just spent 5hrs in the car... and we were not gonna jerk around with
Finding a new hotel or unresponsive housekeeping.... lastly, after sleeping in a king bed and fighting something lumpy under the bottom sheet all night, we found a queen mattress cover partially stretched over the mattress... really??? upon checkout I did mention this to Erin (operational manager,as she was taking 5 calls and training new staff members) but this is not even close to acceptable... in a weak moment I tried to save a few bucks (by the way it wasn t much of a savings from the big boys) and I relearned a valuable lesson... the true shame is that your facility clearly made some serious capital investing and then walked away.... full disclosure ... this exact narrative will appear on Google reviews as is my right
The reason for the second star, is, as mentioned they did make some improvements, the pool area was nice, and the outside bar area was nice, but basically that s all.... it s a volume establishment, that clearly doesn t rely on repeat customers.... we were there for 3 days which was more than ample time to get any mass influx that had come before us corrected, that s the whole business model!
