When it became obvious in August of 2016 that my mom, referenced above, would not be coming home from the sub-acute facility, Atrium at Wayne View, and would have to be institutionalized there, my sister, Kathy (who lives clear across the country in Seattle) and I faced the task of preparing to qualify her for Medicaid. The hospital had provided us with a checklist of the requirements which was alarming in its detail and length. So it was with great relief that I got a call from long-time friends, Cary & Maureen Hirschfield to advise that an organization such as yours existed, and that Cary had employed your firm to get him through the process with his mom less than a year earlier. He told me that you fee was considered an allowable expense and could be used to help pay down her bank balance to within the Medicaid mandate of $2,000.

I met with your representative in early September, 2016 and provided him with the first round of documents that I was able to secure quickly. Our case worker, Sari Jeremias, was assigned in short order. Over the next several months, Kathy and I peppered her with many questions, and her responses were quick, polite, and never hinted at a lack of patience. In fact, more than once she encouraged us to ask even more questions. Once we provided all the required documents, Sari marched them into the appropriate Medicaid office, and we went Medicaid-pending on December 1, 2016. The Medicaid officer made two minor requests for additional information (due to that office having taken so long to review our case). Finally, in June, 2017, Gretchen was approved with an effective date back to December 1st.

While I am sure that two people holding masters degrees could have worked our way through this process without outside help, I must say that we were both tremendously relieved that we had your help. I have recommended you to a few of the newbee s relatives at the Atrium, and would not hesitate to recommend your service to anyone who would inquire.
