The National Museum of Fine Arts The Royal Society of Fine Arts was established in Amman in 1979, and the association established the Jordanian National Museum of Fine Art, which was inaugurated in 1980, in Amman - Jabal Al-Jabal.
Aims of the museum
1- Sponsoring the plastic art movement in Jordan, the Arab countries and the countries of the third world.
2- Exchanging and setting up exhibitions between the National Museum and international museums and other institutions in America, Europe and Arab countries to introduce Jordanian, Arab and Islamic art.
3- Holding seminars, lectures, conferences, festivals and workshops in Jordan, and participating in international technical seminars and conferences. The museum started with a group of not more than 50 artworks, and it has now reached about 2000 works, representing the production of 520 artists from 43 Arab and Islamic countries.
The achievements
Justice
The association has organized more than 50 exhibitions in Amman, in cooperation with artistic and civil institutions in Europe and America, such as the Bumbido Center in
Paris, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and the Museum of History and Art in
Geneva, and Harvard University Museum of Semitic Studies.
Turkish museums and the Museum of Modern Art in Cairo have loaned special collections for display in the National Museum in Amman.
The Royal Society of Fine Arts has held exhibitions of distinguished works from its art collection in France, Turkey, Poland and Britain.
