My son came home with a black eye after being punched in the face. He then was sent home for disruptive behavior and told that he would be suspended the instant he acted bad again. I made a FB post about the situation and sought input from friends regarding how to combat his behavior. Tara Dalton contacted me and told me to "remove the Facebook post now or he isn't allowed back." I chose my child. I stand behind my word and I do not do ultimatums. Check on your kids. For as much physical activity happening, perhaps there should be a higher ratio of teachers to students. No way biting, hitting, kicking, and black eyes should happen constantly, while under direct supervision. There's so many ways to redirect bad behavior, and listen for cues that negative behavior is upcoming, than to wait and see how it plays out. I refused to take the post down, as there was nothing negative contained within it. We did nothing wrong. I paid by the month. I have always been transparent. I will not be threatened. Ever. I appreciate you suspending the child that punched my kid in his eye, you know, the one you said has medical diagnosis pertaining to sensory issues. Not sure that communication was appropriate but neither was implementing a mandated removal of FB post or else your kid can't come back. I have still not seen a social media policy for parents...although requested. Thanks!
