I regret ignoring the bad reviews. It was my third time visiting NYC and usually I stay at the same hotel but I wanted to try something new. Foolish me...
Let me first start with the positive things. The bed is amazing and the staff is trying their best but I think they need more experience.

After 3 nights we had some problems with our toilet and TV. We mentioned this before we left for some dinner and they promised to fix it immediately. When we returned the problems were still there. So we complained at the reception and the lady (other lady) knew nothing about our complaints. After pointing out that we definitely don t appreciate it, we got an other room. This one was smaller than our original room but we did not mind because we only had 2 nights left.
We received complementary breakfast but at check out they wanted to charge it for 5 days. We only went to breakfast once because even though the assortment is ok, the breakfast area is not so ok. If there are a lot of guests, it seems like a battlefield.

The shower is really not what you expect from a hotel with the Hyatt name. You either freeze or get burned by the water. The amenities are only soap and lotion. No shower caps (trust me you need a shower cap with their shower head), no sanitary bags etc. Those little things that set the difference between an average hotel and good hotel.

The hotel is new but definitely does not look new. The elevators make weird noises. Power outlets don t work. It s like the developer was in a hurry to build the hotel with cheap materials.

They charged a deposit of $250 and I still did not get my money back on my creditcard. It has been 3 weeks now. I mailed them and they told me I can expect it within a couple days. I waited longer than a week and mailed them again. Still waiting for a reply....My guess is that something went wrong because of the room change.

So to make a long story short, this hotel still got a long road to go to deserve their stars. I definitely do not recommend Hyatt.
