Very poor Customer service.

Very poor Customer service.

My parents purchased a clarinet from Chamberlains about 18 months ago for my son. He complained that sometimes it 'didn't work' and being able to play the clarinet myself, I assumed it was his technique. He periodically complained about the same problem and I never really gave it much thought because whenever I tried his clarinet, it was fine. This was until about two weeks ago. I discovered that if two of the keys were pressed at the same time, key 3 & 4 for the right little finger, key 3 would latch itself under key 4 and it was impossible to carry on playing. Key 4 was obviously bent.

Chamberlains said it would never leave the shop like that and that it had received a knock, bending the key.
My complaint was that it had always been like that and if it had received what must have been a serious knock, then why were the arms of the keys perfectly parallel. It just didn't make sense.

I have spent hundreds of pounds in Chamberlains over the years, on instruments, sheet music, servicing and accessories. I expected good customer service with a suitable resolution. Forget it. A stubborn, belligerent attitude is all I received.
If you're prepared to buy goods on a 'sold as seen' basis with evidently no guarantee, then all well and good.

If you want good customer service and support, go elsewhere.
