If there were ten stars to award, this charming hotel with great elegance would get them all. It is very well located near Taksim square. Some rooms have Bosporus view. The staff is amazing. Each one makes you feel as if you are the only guest in the hotel. The rooms are elegantly furnished in a classical style with an Ottoman ambiance. Each room , aside from a comfortable bed, has a leather love seat and a desk. All marble bathroom and the walk in shower are big. Hotel s three restaurants compete with each other in the sense of the delicious menu they offer. They offer the best examples of the Turkish cuisine in the most delicious way. There is also a Japanese restaurant which is absolutely great. The bar is elegant and romantic with well chosen background music. The hotel houses the company s nationwide famous patisserie and offers to die for cakes, cookies , chocolates and their own production best of the best Turkish delight. The indoor swimming pool is beautifully designed. There is a Turkish hammam-bath that can be privately booked. The gym is fully equipment and spacious. The hairdressers , two separate shops for men and women, attract local Istanbul clientele as well as hotel guests. It is a pure joy to stay at this hotel and leave yourselves in the hands of a very capable staff who does their job with great care and smile. If l had a choice to stay at some well known hotel chain on the Bosporus and pay four times more and fight Istanbul s horrendous traffic on the Bosporus or Divan, my choice would always be for Divan as a person who also stayed at the other ones. Thank you to all Divan staff and its managers.
