This is my 2nd surgery within three months at Kendall Regional Medical Center. Prior to my surgeries, I had only heard negative comments about this facility. Now, after two surgeries within 90 days, I would like to take this opportunity to give you an honest and accurate review. In my experience, I could not find one negative aspect within my experience.
The hospital has valet parking which alleviates parking concerns. The Outpatient Registration Department is on the first floor adjacent to the lobby. The staff within this department is courteous, knowledgeable, helpful and committed to making this process as simple as possible.
The overall process, including evaluation by the Nurse and blood draw,
was accomplished in under one hour. The Surgical Department is located on the 2nd floor. There is ample seating and patient information regarding current status is displayed on a video display. In addition, there is personnel seated in this area that will update you on surgery time, etc.
The Surgical Pre Op area is very clean and organized for such a large busy surgical department. The nurses assigned to pre op surgery are extremely knowledgeable and well experienced. They describe every aspect of the many requirements needed prior to surgery. I found them to be very friendly and engaging. For such a busy surgical department, the noise level was low and respectful. The House Doctors that reviewed my surgeries were of the same caliber. Very knowledgeable, engaging and truly concerned about your care. The Anesthesiologists did an outstanding job in not only reviewing my medical history, but ensuring that I was fully aware of the type of sedation my surgery would require.
In neither instance did I have post op issues with nausea or headaches.
They did an excellent in controlling my post op pain as well. The recovery room is co located within the surgery department. I had excellent nurses who were extremely attentive. They continually monitored my pain status and provided medicine as needed. These nurses did an excellent job in communicating post op requirements, as well as completion of discharge paperwork. I found them to be patient, engaging and well educated in getting the patient ready for discharge.

If I could give Kendall Regional Medical Center 6 Stars, I would. I am glad that I had my surgeries at their facility. I wanted to make sure that I posted this review so that those negative reviews could be dispelled and replaced with honest and accurate five star comments.
