It's 1700 years old and has seen emperors, popes, kings and generals. You can feel the history. What more is there to say. Totally worth the 40 lira entrance fee. The audio guide is 35 lira but if you have Wikipedia you don't really need it. Go on a Monday or Tuesday to avoid the bigger crowds.
