I was stranded, trying to get home to South Carolina, with three daughters and a shot transmission. Vernon Auto Group took care of us and got us back on the road. Everyone there seemed very friendly and I'm pleased they were there to help us. I had heard from multiple different local sources that they not only offer an excellent selection of inventory, but that they are one of the best dealerships nationwide and are honest and fair, which is far more important to me.
They were very nice and friendly, so much so that I hate to mention my disappointments, but since this is a review, it's only fair that I do.
Although they seemed to want to do their best to help us quickly since they knew we were in a rush to get back on the road, it didn't translate, and we were there for 10 hours total. So, while you should expect great service, it may not be fast service. For example, we got there at 8:30am and in 1/2 hour had chosen a vehicle we wanted at a dealership in Bowie, yet the driver wasn't on the road from Vernon to go pick it up until nearly 1pm.
I was also disappointed when they were unwilling to do the deal if the wire transfer wouldn't arrive until the following day, which meant I had to finance (thus losing some money). I understand why they want that capital immediately, of course, but it seems to me there should be mutual trust, not just one way trust.
Lastly, I was left unsure whether I got a decent deal on the trade in of my vehicle given the transmission damages. I could have repaired it locally there for $1500 less, but didn't have the time to wait. Then again, thanks for taking a broken vehicle in the first place!
After leaving, they made sure to continue to take care of my needs, including paying for a small defect to be replaced at my local home dealership.
A huge "Thank You!" to Vernon Auto Group for helping us get back home!
