I've been hearing all about Old Republic ever since it opened. We gave it a try on a Saturday night and it's probably one of the best restaurant experiences I've had in awhile. It looked really busy in the lot but was surprised to find the large dining room with plenty of open seats. Our waitress was very nice and very professional, and was on top of drinks and checking in on us regularly. We order the Sloppy Beef, Brisket and a Cheese Pizza. Our sides were French fries. Lets start with those- the best I've ever had. Cooked perfectly, seasoned perfectly and not burning your mouth hot but also not soggy cold. The Sloppy Beef (Sloppy Joe) is also the best I've ever had. That's saying a lot since my previous favorite was Elgin Public House which is award-winning. It had a nice kick to it and the serving was really good. The brisket was so tender and flavorful it was definitely one of my favorites. The pizza was really thin but cooked perfect and worked well as an appetizer or side dish to our main courses. The food came all together 15 minutes after ordering and I didn't have a single complaint. I originally heard their prices were kind of expensive, however after what I tasted and the service we received, it was totally worth every penny. All that with 2 alcoholic beverages and a root beer, our bill came out to $53. Amazing food, awesome service, great environment and great visit! Definitely recommend it and I can't wait to go back.
