This will be kind of long... bear with me. Is this place expensive? Yes. Is it absolutely worth it? YES.

I was referred here by my trusted family vet in Sussex County to handle my Presa Canario's ACL tear. I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH NICE THINGS about Dr. Brophy and the surgical staff! My dog is such an important part of my family... he is fiercely loyal to us, but is very protective of himself and has some fear based anxiety issues that were exacerbated by his injury. During our first appointment, Dr. Brophy immediately made us feel very confident that we had made the right choice in bringing him to AERC- he spent time letting our dog become as comfortable as possible around him before examining him. Dr. Brophy explained the entire procedure and made sure all of our questions were answered, and that our expectations were set appropriately. The procedure went incredibly well, and Dr. Brophy worked with us in a very thoughtful way to eliminate fear/anxiety at follow up visits. Our dog's recovery was going extremely smoothly, until, to our complete dismay, his other ACL (which was compromised due to compensation during his original injury and subsequent recovery), also completely detached. We didn't hesitate to bring him back to Dr. Brophy and his staff. We've now been through 2 ACL surgeries, and I don't know if I could trust anybody more than I trust Dr. Brophy and his staff with my 140 lb baby. It was worth the $$, it was worth the commute, and I am so thankful.
