Yikes. This was a disappointment. The service was incredibly sub-par. My grandfather asked for directions regarding seating at the front, to which the hostess turned around and ignored him and started laughing with the other hostess. The man before us had to wait 5 minutes to even be addressed by those two. In addition, we were told no tables would be ready for 20 minutes. We walked into the bar, and only about 50% of the tables are seated. The bartender ended up asking us if the hostess knew we had a table, which we said yes. The hostess returned to us and informed us that she forgot about us even though we specifically told her we were in the bar. Probably because she wasn t paying attention. Finally once seated, our waitress was friendly but seemingly a rookie. I asked for deviled eggs as an appetizer - she said she would check. Well dinner came, no appetizer, so I asked about the eggs, she said she forgot to let me know they were out of the item. Not to mention ALSO out of literally everything barbecue but pulled pork and beef brisket. No chicken, no turkey, no RIBS! Talk about a letdown. As far as food, beef brisket and pulled pork sandwich were good. Gumbo was good-sized cup, but way too salty. Pecan pie was very very good. Salad was also fresh and good. However, my grandmother asked for a side of Texas toast but never got it. Waitress seemed noticeably tired and stressed, I m assuming rookie status and new to job (silly mistakes and forgetfulness). She never introduced herself so I do not have the name. She was friendly, though and seemed genuine. Overall, not impressive: amateur service, good food (if they aren t out) and basic homestyle southern atmosphere. Would not recommend for large groups or those on a timely schedule. I also recommend coming early in the weekend prior to avoid ordering items they no longer have in stock. I might visit again but this restaurant did in no way stand out to me to invite me back.
